2024.11.26 23:21 Cptn-Reflex couldnt login the website because I forgot to change address
been having a rough time and I forgot I didnt change address to the social security office when I thought about the big packet. I was locked out of my account on the new login thing with login.gov because my old sim card is gone and i can never use that phone again. I tried to delete my account and make a new one and ended up halting the process by 15 days and upon research it looks like after deleting the account and making a new one even after I put the new address and phone number into login.gov they are still going to send it to my old address. chat gpt says that login.gov probably wont even update my new credentials of where I live with ssi so they just sent my cola packet and how to login my account to a possible criminal who could live in the old place I moved out of for all i know.
how screwed and I and will I lose my benefits? I actually thought the government would automatically know I changed address in the dmv
I also put mail on hold and forwarded the adress and have moved twice since. I forwarded the address from the original location to location 2 then I forwarded the address of location 2 to location 3.
will my letters still make it here? i been on the phone for over an hour and I thought that the office would send snail mail if I went to the local office near where I live. You cannot call that local office either. googleing the name and address of the closest ssa office willl yield only the national number and googling it told me they will actually mail a letter and it would have been too late by then. what do I do?

The pigment will fade significantly about 30-40% of what you see now (the orange tone disappears after healing). I (19F) am secretly dating my boyfriend (25M) for a little over a year now (I was 18 at the time we met and he was 24). I live with my parents and I tried introducing him to my parents a few months in and it did not go well (this was a little over a year ago). He lives 2 hours away from me and he had nowhere to stay which was really stupid and I should’ve never even introduced him it was horribly planned. My parents didn’t like him (mostly my dad had an issue with him) because of our age gap and he thought he wasn’t with me for the right intentions so my boyfriend just left and got a ride back home from a friend. My parents pretty much made me break up with him so I did but I’m still secretly dating him and have not seen him in person since the incident. I really want to see him but I have no ideas on how to secretly see him considering I have no friends and can’t lie about seeing a friend because they know I don’t go out ever so they’d be suspicious. I know I’m an adult and can do what I want but what’s stopping me is them getting mad if I tell them I’m dating him again and just overall caring what they think. I’m aware that Reddit hates age gaps of any kind but he’s not weird at all and his ex’s were all adults close to his age. He treats me with respect, respects my boundaries and is a good guy.

Hi, I'm a brand new gecko owner (as in, I got my baby a day ago) so I'm still learning about them. Im pretty sure my gecko is a juvenile since he's small and has "bands" on his head/neck, so i know it's gonna be a while before I really have to worry about brumation but I'm still curious.
I see that some owners replicate winter conditions in their enclosures to force their geckos into brumation. Is it absolutely necessary for geckos to brumate, especially if you're not trying to breed them? It just seems like such a difficult and stressful process, it's intimidating to think I may have to do it with my gecko.

I had put this over on the computers subreddit, but got no response so thought I'd try here.
I have a small service-based business, looking to replace aging hardware. Our new office system is "cloud-based" through a browser and is our primary focus on use. Secondary uses include email, word processing, web browsing, social media management and other general office tasks.
With that preface, we have a primary desktop pc we use at our front desk that functions great. This new purchase would be for a laptop or tablet, as I am actively moving throughout the office during the day. A laptop would suffice, but I am not sure what would be a good fit and what would be considered "overkill" on specs.
I have been seeing more about people using tablets instead, being lighter and easier to hold than even a laptop. Could this work? Doing some research, I wonder if using a Samsung tablet, with the ability of Dex mode, would be a solution. Being honest, this option intrigues me the most as it seems to fit a lot of our needs, I just want to make sure it would work and not be regretful long term.
More or less asking what would make more sense: laptop or tablet?

I was curious what the community thought about using the swallowing exercises as a preventative treatment measure for preventing disuse atrophy. I will say I'm awaiting on the campus library to get back to me on a lit review, but wanted to see what folks thought here.
An example that comes to mind: pts who arent able to safely take PO in a icu setting, getting TPN, no prior dysphagia history but are suseptible to ICU weakness. So in this situation it's difficult to determine the pathophysiology of the swallow since imaging is not an option. Can the principals of exercise be applied to "stave off" atrophy of the swallow until they can take PO? I was under the impression imaging is needed to prescribe exercises. Or is there some level of assumption that atrophy is expected regardless and in that case, any exercise may be beneficial without objective testing? Of course ice chips could be an option but is that alone sufficient? Obviously there is more specific information needed that can help with this, case to case, but simply asking as a general way to approach this.

hello, i live on the third floor of an apartment building and noticed my two cats watching something outside for an hour or so. i kept checking and did not notice anyone until i asked my partner to come look, and he noticed her perched on top of the gutter. i’ve been checking on her throughout the day (fearing the worst) until i noticed her head changed position maybe 4 hours in (as in 4 hours from the point we first noticed her…i’m unsure how long she’s been there). i saw another post in the sub referencing a freeze response (“sitting high”) in squirrels…could this be it? is there anything i can do to help her or anyone we should call?
