It only had about three or four entries back when I read it about 4-6 years ago. The cover art was a man in suit with the front half of his head removed (the remaining brain, throat, tongue, skull etc all exposed). Story went something like the protagonist talking with a woman at the start about moving to another city/habitat/planet and becoming a penguin and then visiting a place with the man described above where he gets killed and his consciousness put into some sort of engineered hyper organism with a limited short lifespan (think it was called a super turing). It breaks out of the facility before he comes to his senses and is apparently put into some sort of simulated zone to protect his mind (whatever put him there talks to him through animals or something similar). Can't really remember much else besides that his super organism status will eventually drive him crazy as it morphs his psyche into something beyond human (it/he also talks to himself iirc and mocks his insignificance) and one of the later entries had a fighter jet bird controlled by multiple minds attacking the protagonist. Really trippy read overall and for some reason nobody seems to have talked about it at all.

I have a 2007 mazda 6 v6. It keeps throwing o2 sensor codes on a rich mixture. Ive cleaned the maf sensor i replaced the airfilter, spark plugs, ignition coils. I have a bosch electric fuel pump in my original housing and my fuel injectors are port injectors and from view its not to dirty. Car runs good except in 3rd and 4th gear i hear rumbling and shaking right under the driver seat until its pass 4th. Any ideas on what could be throwing a rich mixture and what could be the reason of the rumbling. What should i test for? Ive smoked tested a bunch and no air leaks. Please help

 | Dark Energy Ball from Half-Life Dark Energy. This stuff disintegrates Biomatter, and is used by The Combine, who the Astro Toilets were somewhat based off of, as they are a Giant Advanced Empire. Half-Life is Boom's Favorite Game, and if Half-Life 3 ever comes out, Skibidi Toilet will be delayed. Now, onto why we need Dark Energy. It would easily fight Astros, as if a Dark Energy Blast were to hit their head, they would pretty much look flushed, and then a Camera could be put into the toilet, making an Astro CameraToilet. Now, it couldn't work like that. Not like the OP Half-Life way, because then it could just solo G-Toilet in one shot. So here's what would really happen. Dark Energy Orbs, like this one in the image above, also caused Large Explosions, and were OP Energy Sources, used by The Combine. Maybe Astros could use this as their energy for the Mothership, just like the Half-Life Citadel. Anyways, here's how it would go. Remember TTVM's Core in 67-3? Remember how it seemed like Anti-Matter, or a Black Hole? I think that Dark Energy would have the Infinite Melting effect on everything, and could be used as a Laser or an Energy Orb, both in One Weapon, doubling efficiency. Furthermore, I think that the Energy Orbs would cause massive explosions on impact, and then explode, unlike the Half-Life ones. They would also be used to Supercharge Gravity Guns, such as TCM's. Actually, this is a great idea for Secret Agent Tech. If he had it, it would make sense, and fit him best. He could also equip it to TCM's Gravity Gun Arm, which would then be like the Supercharged Gravity Gun from Half-Life, and Secret Agent could also give out other tech like this. This might not just be a cool idea for an addition, but it may also be our solution to fight The Astro Toilets. Another idea is the Astro Toilets having this, as their Special Elite Technology, once they start taking the battle more serious, and it becomes more balanced. I’ve been in data engineering for close to a decade and, like many, have seen the profession evolve rapidly. Like many of you, I’ve weathered the ups and downs of this field, including two layoffs in the past couple of years. After a lot of effort, I landed a new role that I feel confident in.
But now I have a new concern, which is my team is evaluating Preswald. this AI tool that claims it can automate a large part of the DE workflow: ETL pipelines, schema inference, metric generation, etc. My boss is optimistic, saying it’ll “free us up for more strategic work,” but I can’t help wondering what that actually means.
I got access to their beta and spent some time testing it. Admittedly, Preswald does a relatively good job with boilerplate tasks. it quickly creates pipelines for well-defined use cases where the data sources are consistent, and the business logic is straightforward. Its automated schema suggestions for normalized datasets are fast and often accurate. that said, it struggles w/ edge cases. Cant really even handle timestamps, and handling tasks that require dynamic dependencies or multiple upstream checks tends to break the automation.
The hype surrounding tools like this is growing, and management seems to view them as a way to "optimize" (read: reduce) the human workforce. I’m hearing phrases like, “This will let us focus on strategic work,” but there’s little clarity on what that work would actually entail. Governance? Data stewardship? Cross-functional alignment? These are all valuable, but they don’t fully replace the core engineering skill set that these tools aim to automate.
- If foundational tasks like ETL and schema design become commoditized, where does that leave the role of the data engineer? Will we see a shift toward more architecture-heavy or real-time systems roles, or is there a larger restructuring on the horizon?
- Is management overestimating these tools, or are they right to push for adoption now? Are we collectively overreacting, or is this a serious inflection point for the profession?
