2024.11.27 00:27 SoccerHorse Got to the point in my Python class where I’m working with sets, and realized I could do my own unique word count at the album level, in this case for ITS, pared against Kendrick’s GNX (which I also like) for context! Screenshots of code included
Most of the work (around 2 and a half hours of work) was really just adjusting for punctuation and hyphenation/apostrophes in words, and also going through and removing featured artists. These word counts are only lyrics sung by Aesop and Kendrick, having removed Billy Woods’ verse on Living Curfew, or SZA on gloria, Dody6 on hey now, etc. The rest was really just creating a set of unique words for all the lyrics on the album, and then dividing those by the total word counts to adjust for length to make a “unique word density.” Very easy, very much a prototype. But if anyone would like an album they would like run through this program to find these stats, just DM me. Was thinking of doing Chromakopia as well; also was thinking of employing the graphing function in Python to plot a graph of Aesop’s word density over time. Anyways, had fun with this project!

2024.11.27 00:27 fxmad First day w/ Nuphy Air 75 HE (and 1 month w/ 60 HE)
Got my Air 75 HE and immediately swapped the keycaps for the Canopus set that I had bought with my 60 HE (which I am now selling).
Good:
- It is exactly what I expected - the same feel of the 60% but with the extra keys that I can't do without for programming and other productivity tasks (well, I CAN do without as I have for the past month using the 60 HE, but I found it slowing me down)
- Having to go to the configuration website to set this one up, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it has evolved considerably since the last time I used, so that's good to see them improving the software;
- It is clear the improvements they made on the non-see through keycaps - see the image where keycaps E, R, D, F, C and V were the original ones that came with the 60 HE and the rest are those from the 75 HE, no longer showing the bleed;
- The canopus keycap set does NOT include a 1U Option key - I had to use a 1U ALT key instead, even though the remaining are Mac keys
- The quality of the print on said keyset is a bit disappointing, with keys misaligned (look at Home/End keys, for an example)
- Still on the same keycap set, some keys are more "transparent" than others, this can be seen without light shining through and it affects the colour intensity - I do like this keycap set, but will most likely end up procuring a better quality one;
- The software, as said before, is great, but I would LOVE if I could set individual keys to different colours, for example, I could set F5-F8 to show a different colour, mimicking the different shades on the non-shine through, but that is not possible, hopefully it will be added in the future.

A couple months ago I (36M) matched with an account I was sure was a scam. The photos were clearly professional photo shoot images of a super model looking person (33F), but there were other, casual pictures too.
So we matched and I was honestly kind of short and not warm or charming with her for our first conversations because I was really just looking to confirm it was either an onlyfans thing or a scam.
I had decided she was for sure someone trying to harvest my organs when she invited me out one night with her and her roommate and her roommate's friends. When I arrive I learn her roommate is a personal trainer....and a guy. As are his 2 friends. So here I am, out on a first date with a HARD 10 (turns out she was a litetal supermodel, fuck me) and her 3 male friends. I played it cool. Date went pretty good and I thought there might be a second. At the end of the date I'm getting mad "kiss me" vibes but before I can, she starts saying it was a fun date but didn't know how she felt about it. She actually said something that I thought was pretty rude, which caused some friction.
Whatever. At least I can say I went on a date with a supermodel.
A week later she hits me up for drinks. OK? Another solid date. And it kind of continued like that for a couple weeks, and for the last 2 weeks or so we've been spending a lot of time together.
But here's the problem. I was married before this for a pretty long time and this is the first time since then that I've felt this way and my nervous system has no clue how to process this. I'm nervous all day. Every day. On day when we have plans I can't work. I can't focus. I pace around the house.
I cant very well go to a doctor and say, "I need xanax please, I have a crush." I just had to leave my parents house with all the family pre-Thanksgiving festivities because I was too anxious about our date tonight.
And I keep doing this stupid thing where I'm cataloging all her bad qualities so I can be relieved if this doesn't work out, which is so destructive and futile.
I was not cool in high school. I'm pretty cool and confident now (so say my neices), but I didn't think I could ever pull this off. And here's the other thing; she's NOT perfect. She has just as many good and bad qualities as anyone. I really love her personality, but clearly the only reason I'm so completely useless all day has to be because of how she looks.
Fortunately it's the holidays and low productivity kind of goes unnoticed, but I'm not kidding when I say I'm unable to work. It's the nervous manic energy all day and it's been going on now for almost 2 weeks. My nervous system needs a break.

My 69F mother lives with me and I provide all her care. My older step-brother has been in and out of jail his entire life, and now he's in jail again waiting sentencing for two felonies that will likely have him in prison for a while. We've been cordial for the most part, but we've never really liked each other, and it's gotten worse over the last 5 years or so.
Everyone in the family has cut off contact with him except my mother. She has tried several times but then says he's her son and she can't. She bailed him out once and he got arrested again. She refused to do it the next time, but I understand he calls begging constantly and asks why I won't bail him out either.
I specifically told her not to give him my address. I want nothing to do with him, I don't want him to know where I live, and when he gets out, I don't want him coming around here. Today, she received a postcard from the jail. I asked her how he got my address, and she says she gave it to him. She is not remorseful whatsoever about going against my wishes. She doesn't seem to understand why I want nothing to do with him. So, am I overreacting?

I've been on this project for weeks now. The only recent poor rating I have received was due to formatting my question wrong, not for anything egregious such as copy/pasting from the internet or running up my task time. It says I can submit an appeal but I can't figure out how from the help section or from Outlier community. Can someone explain how to go about this?
