2024.11.27 00:21 ArtemisMaracas How to transition out of electrical engineering to a completely different field of work

I don't like working in this area, I made the mistake of getting a degree in electrical engineering for ships, a decision that was made due to me falling for the false advertising from my university on what the job would be like (excellent tax free pay, chance to see the world, clear ranked progression, potential 6 figures salary etc).
I never felt like I knew what I was doing either with practical work or ever more in theory and given the nature of electricity being obviously dangerous I was always on edge about potentially offing myself due to my lack of knowledge.
Due to covid and my own fears of my own stupidity I decided to not pursue my final exam which would allow me to work at sea and got a job in construction in a CAD/QA type role and have been doing that sort of work for the last 2 years but I still feel like I know absolutely nothing about electrical engineering and am just waiting for the penny to drop.
So I guess what I'm asking has anyone managed to successfully (hopefully financially painless as well) transitioned to a completely different field of work? I'm 26 and feel like it's too late to go back to university and starting from scratch. How did you do it? Hope this is an ok thing to ask here.

Hey all, newerish player here just looking for some advice since there seems to be a lot to this game from unlocks to builds to curse progression.
In regards to builds/skills/passive/runes are there any established "bad" ones or "Op" ones? Is there a tier list? Can you generally do pretty well with any combination that just compliment each other? I've seen buffs like might and scent of blood, is there an optimal number of these buffs to get vs active skills?
What's the best way to unlock characters/runes/abilities etc.?
Is there an optimal way to progress through curses/maps?
