2024.11.27 00:30 Intelligent-Nose-766 Misdiagnosis, overprescribed, addiction?

I’m fairly certain my now former psychiatrist misdiagnosed me with ADHD and then proceeded to overprescribe me stimulants for three years. Now I’m dealing with addiction and looking into rehab.
I’m sure I exhibit some signs of ADHD, but who doesn’t? I’m not sure I’m actually adhd. All the stims ever did was put me in overdrive and make me feel like I’m being compelled by a machine. Every time I saw here I told her they weren’t working. We switched medications a handful of times and at one point she was prescribing more than the max daily dose, mixing vyv and Ritalin, giving me 90 day supplies, all knowing I had a previous issue with prescription meds.
Now here I am unable to stop the stuff I get not from a pharmacy and looking into rehab. I’ve tried to get off them on my own three times and I just can’t.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? What’s the psychiatrists responsibility with stims and addiction?

Although I am a relatively new player (lvl 106 currently) I have been humbled by higher level players gifting me every now and then. I have been attempting to ‘give back’ but so far, out of the 3 or 4 new players I have come by, none of them have managed to accept my gift. 🎁 whether it is simply not realising I am ready to gift or they just don’t get it yet. The last player (lvl 20) I tried for 10 minutes with numerous emotes of ‘gift’ and ‘come over here’ but still failed. Is this a normal occurrence?

2024.11.27 00:30 PartTimePoster Installing Done Set 2 & Onion

Hi all, I hope I'm not beating a dead horse here. I've looked at the no nonsense install guide as well as the done set google doc and it looks like the better way is installing Done Set 2 before Onion.
I assume I need to extract the Done Set 2.zip to the SD card. Do I then manually extract each individual game's zip from the Roms folder?? And does everything just go in the root of the SD card? I'm a bit lost on where exactly things need to be placed. I know OnionOS needs to be placed in the root of the card for it to install, which as I mentioned at the start I believe should be done after setting up the games.
Final question, with regards to game cover art, is that included with Done Set 2 or do I need to additionally download the Thumbs Smooth 2D Box Art.zip from the Internet Archive for the photos?

Matchups I’d like First time posting but I thought I’d compile a list of match ups that I’d like to see or just ones that use characters or series that would be good to see represented Hence why some of these are more me trying to justify a character I’d like appearing. Anyway:
  1. Sunday (HSR) vs Takuto Maruki Creators of paradise
Both characters, seeing the pain and fundamental cruelty of the world sought out the means of creating an idyllic paradise at the expense of free will.
-Both use heavy Christian imagery -both are opposed on the basis that people should have control to determine their own lives -Both pilot golden mech like entities in their boss fights, ascending to near godhood in the process -Both are heavily influenced by an important woman in their life and the hardships they suffered
Genuinely my most wanted Match up and the fight to install their own idea paradise gives a natural conflict
  1. Scott pilgrim vs Travis touchdown (No More heroes)
Both are characters who start out as really shitty people who happen to be nerds but are called to action as they fall head over heels for their primary love interest. In their attempt to win their affection, both go on a quest to defeat a lineup of eccentric and increasing powerful foes all dressed up in the aesthetics of anime and retro video games. All the while they learn to reassess themselves and become better people (if only a little)
  1. Vi (LoL) vs Yang xiao long (RWBY) Hot headed older sisters that fight using their fists. Both gay as fuck and kind of flirty. Not the deepest match up but I think there’s room for Vi’s stoicism to clash with Yang’s extroverted nature while still having a lot in common
  2. Kaiju no 8 Vs Venom (Marvel) 2 regular dudes get penetrated by an inhuman entity that gives them super powers and a slight hit to their inhibitions. Offers a fun contrast that one uses their new found powers to be a hero while the other (initially) to be a villain. Kafka and Eddie both gain their powers during a point where they’re living in envy of others success. I don’t know much about Kafka tbh but Venom hasn’t had an episode I liked despite being a character I love so anything for that golden ep.
  3. Takayuki Yagami (judgement) vs Wei Shen (sleeping dogs)
Both expert martial artists fighting against Asian organised crime groups. One being a detective P.I and the other an undercover cop. Both from games that have a spectacular level of violence. COUKD work in a fun jab how no one seems to die from RGG heat actions against the insanely lethal moves of Sleeping dogs. Just a cool kung fu fight (and I liked it more than any of the ones I could think of for Kiryu)
  1. Percidal (Wakfu) vs Melissa’s (Seven deadly sins)
Both are incredibly forward fighters with demonic powers that ultimately give up a lot of their power to defeat a greater evil and live peacefully with their loved ones, at least that was the plan.
  1. Dottore (Genshin impact) vs Bonedrewd (Made in Abyss)
Masked mad scientists where morals may not apply. Their cruelty in pursuit of scientific curiosity knows no bounds and both are shown creating backup/bodies and clones. There’s some real potential for some devious grim visuals and tone and a whole lot of gore among the clone chaos
  1. Andy (undead unluck) vs Ban (seven deadly sins)
Both rizz lord immortals who have gone on journeys to spite death itself to save their beloved. Spite it more than they usually do anyway.
  1. Dimple (Mob psycho) vs Turbo granny (Dandadan)
Exceptionally powerful spirits who are turned into drastically weakened version of themselves after being defeated early on in their series. They eventually become allies to their paranormally inclined teenage opponents to the point where they have actively bestowed their powers to them and even saved their lives (Okarun and Mob having a good few similarities themselves).
  1. Meruem (HxH) vs Kars (Jojo)
The leaders of an apex species that hunts and feeds on humans. Both are geniuses and are able to learn and replicate skills quickly after seeing them. Both believed they were slated to dominate the world. Both are composite of different creatures (in distinct ways). Both have ways of imitating their opponents (Meruem from eating a part of a creature and Kars because he’s just that guy) and then using those copied features often to a better degree than the original source.
These fight’s definitely aren’t meant to be balanced so if there’s stomps, I’m not surprised.

I've noticed a growing trend of offices that are advertising themselves with discounted NP offers, which are hurting their brand and showcasing themselves as discount doctors (no offense). Just the other day, I spoke to an owner doing 140k/mo and even established practices are making this mistake.
This attracts patients (the wrong kind) who come in for the discount rather than the doctor. They don't truly understand the value of chiropractic care or see it as the solution. And will be unhappy with your care and end up giving you a 1-star review. Just a total headache.
Please don't make this mistake...
Using social media, we can build a local audience of people (who know, like, and trust us).
This can mean focusing on short educational and entertaining content. Such as videos that explain common symptoms or how chiropractic can help. In essence, providing value to your local community by showing our faces on video. (building our personal brand) And I promise it's not as hard as you think and works quickly when you put a $100-200/mo behind it.
This works much much better than any $19 adjustment offer.
Building a brand attracts patients who respect us and want our care for the right reasons. These are the patients who stick around, refer others, and understand the value of chiro.
We won't grow this industry with discount ads but by educating our local communities.
My belief is that it's every chiropractor's responsibility to educate their local community. And a successful practice will be the by-product.

A friend of mine created this detailed dog training series a couple of years ago and I feel like it doesn't get the love it deserves. She's a fully accredited dog trainer and built this course over several years in order to save new dog owners money. Hiring a private trainer for your pup normally costs $100+ per hour and taking them to puppy preschool is typically $150 for 6 classes that just go over the basics (sit, stay etc.). Not to mention if you want to take your dog to the more advanced classes after puppy preschool it's hundreds more. She made this course so she can spend time with her pups whilst still helping people train their dogs.

2024.11.27 00:30 taammon Have an old(ish) projector– wondering whether it's time for an upgrade

I just finished a modest setup compared to most people here, but I love it. Have a fixed screen that I like and a dark room, mounted my old projector to the ceiling.
I had bought the projector seven years ago or so, used it for two years, and then it's been in storage up until recently (other than the odd backyard watchparty). However, it is noticeably dimmer than I remember, and seems to be getting worse.
If I replaced the bulb, would that extend its lifespan significantly?
The bulb has 3000 hours on it. The projector is an Epson Home Cinema 1060 bought in 2018.
If I need to replace it though, I'm not looking to spend more than $1000. Is it worth waiting until 2025 refresh, will there be anything in that price range? Maybe it's unknown right now. I would say I am a moderately frequent user, probably do 2 movie watchparties a week or so. I don't think I necessarily need 4k, but color accuracy and brightness are important, and a quiet fan if possible.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Is it typical for forehead botox to cause some heaviness in the beginning? I got it for medical purposes not cosmetic so she did 16 units. My forehead just feels heavy and it’s causing some eye strain/heavy eyes. Does this settle and go away?
