2024.11.27 01:44 estheredna I just watched Polanski's MacBeth and have questions
I am not expert, I just read it and then watched.
The way the film took one nobleman, Ross, and made him a through line for MacBeth's story (including being in proximity to all the murders) makes so much sense. Is there a practical reason the original has an assortment of various thanes, instead of just Ross and MacDuff? Like- he had to fill out so many actor roles? Or the various people like Siward might be known to his audience?
Is there a canonical or assumed reason MacBeth is childless? Aside from the plot need to have him heirless, he seems to have no hope for a future heir.
I also noticed this version skipped the line about Lady MacBeth saying she'd kill a babe at her her own breast (in order to motivate M to kill Duncan) which I had pictured shocking MacBeth. Strange choice for a film that embraces the gruesome.
I thought it was a really good film and I do recommend it. I read and watched with my 14 year old son and he LOVED it, especially the battles and the scenes showing medieval festival life being fairly gritty but suthetic. He did think there was too much nudity. I was struck that even the gorgeous young actress playing Lady MacBeth's nudity is not really salacious. She just looked fragile.

 | It took me longer than it should have, so I figured I would make a post for others. I recently received my A2Z NACS (aka J3400) adapter and wanted to test it out. I attempted to navigate to a nearby Supercharger which I knew was a V3 and compatible, but Google Maps in the car said "Unknown connector" and then "Plugs at Tesla Supercharger aren't compatible with your vehicle". I had seen a few posts in here saying to go in to settings, but didn't see anything in the main settings button in Google Maps. I realized you need to tap the search box, tap "Categories" on the left, and tap "Charging Stations". For the last 10 cats, my two cats (an FIV+ 7 year old and FIV- 1.5 year old) have had little to no appetite, vomited a few times early on and have had smelly loose stools. I had a cat die of wet FIP in 2017. The cat that died in 2017 had rapid breathing, no appetite at all and no energy at all. My pair of cats eat treats but act like they get full fast or nauseated fast, only taking small portions at a time. My older cat at night eats most of a bowl of Purina sensitive stomach food, whereas the other cat only eat treats. Both of them still drink water and have more energy than I'd expect given the situation. The older cat wasn't eating any actual cat food until I bought that sensitive stomach food, although I don't know if it's because he likes the food better or he's improving. Neither of them have vomited other than in the early part of this. I'm taking them to the vet tomorrow. I was going to earlier but I got hit with a flu myself and had no energy to do anything. These symptoms came on the exact same time for both cats

2024.11.27 01:44 BeersBooksBSG 17 month old randomly refusing bed, help?!
My 17 month old has been so good at bed time, he lets us know when he’s tired and will usually walk to his crib by 7:30 every night.
We’ve been battling a cold since Friday, I am on the worst day of it today and he is definitely feeling better so I’m way more tired and frustrated than I normally would be, we can’t get him to go to sleep. It’s been over an hour and a half at this point. We’ve left him alone for 10 minutes he just starts blowing bubbles and stands up, after a few minutes of babbling he screams.
My husband and I are not used to this, we both don’t feel good and we’re both tired and just want to relax. He is usually so easy to put to bed, our routine has been locked in for months. He has never fought bed time like this. I’m assuming it’s because he’s feeling better, but i really don’t know.
Any tips on getting him to just go to bed?! Trying not to let him cry for too long since he is still dealing with boogers and the cough from being sick.
