I've realized that many of my fics and original stories share similar tropes, plot elements, or plot devices. More interestingly, I include many of them unconsciously and only realize the similarity upon rereading!
For example, in each of two entirely different fanfics for entirely different fandoms, I have two boys (brothers in one and friends, later brothers by adoption, in another), one of whom resents the plucky heroine and another is secretly in love with her, and though they are lured into a criminal plot against the heroine, it fails in good part because of the latter boy's feelings for her.
I honestly only saw the parallels post factum!
But sometimes – that's the third interesting point I wanted to discuss – when the similarities are intentional or when I spot them early, it can hinder the fics' writing. I can't simultaneously write two fics with similar plot arcs – even if, for instance, one of them has the arc in its focus and in the other, it's just one of many subplots! I still feel like I'm getting confused between the two.
Anyone else feels a similar way?

I some dude added me on instagram and I added him back and we talked for like an hour(casual conversation)and the next night he asked to ft. I was bored so I was like why not. So we did and I was doing homework while otp. He said “I have a show for you” and my stupid ass was like “what’s the show” and then he lowered the camera to him on his couch butt ass naked w his dick in his hand. I was like “absolutely not” and hung up on him. Two weeks go by no contact and he texts me at midnight saying “Are you busy? I’m so sorry ft?” I responded “yea I’m sleeping I got work tmr.” (I had totally forgotten about him within those two weeks and this was a week ago😐) and then earlier today he texted me again while at work, “ft?” What’s his problem like I gave him zero signals and I had no warning before he flashed me I thought he was gonna recommend me something to watch on Netflix or smth. I’ve been perusing different police departments and doing research as im interested in a potential career change… (idk or I might just be a dummy)
But does anyone have input on AZDPS vs other city departments? (Scottsdale, Chandler, Phoenix, Tempe, etc)
I’ve inquired about ride alongs and getting in contact with recruiters, but Im nervous I’ll be fed “rose colored glasses” info per se. Or if anyone has input/suggestions on things I should be looking for or questions to be asking?
Ultimately, I think it would be cool to get into a special unit like aviation or something like that if I were to pursue this.
