I'm writing an app to get my Bangle to connect to a simple ESP32 Arduino BLE peripheral I wrote, and for things like this it would often be helpful to supplement the documentation with seeing how working apps are pulling it off.
I don't understand why this is so hard -- when I use the "storage" feature in the IDE I can download my own programs back, and they look just like I wrote them. But store apps are almost always minified, and worse, often have a bunch of binary gibberish mixed in with the code. I'm confused as to what that is. Some sort of precompiled cache or something? Tokenized code? Some apps come with libraries that don't have the ".js" extension, and sadly, those usually are both afflicted by the binary weirdness and contain all the interesting bits.
For example, I downloaded "Cycling Speed Sensor", which auto-installed something called "blecsc" to do the actual BLE connection; "cscsensor.app.js" will load into the IDE in minified form, the more interesting "blecsc" can only be downloaded and is both minified and full of binary garbage I don't know how to decode. Other apps look semi-normal but might contain directly-embedded binary font data or other strangeness that doesn't make sense to me in a .js file.
It just seems weird and antithetical to the hacky nature of the Bangle. But mainly I also don't understand WHY store apps look different from the ones I wrote myself like this making them so much harder to read. What is all this weirdness I don't understand in the filesystem of my open smartwatch?

across the board almost no one seems understand the concept of ocd and intrusive thoughts
When I tell them “I struggled with intrusive thoughts” they look at me like i’m crazy when i describe what OCD is
I was talking to a friend and said:
- Me: “I used to struggle with intrusive thoughts. I don’t want to tell you what they were about but It was just essentially ocd but i’m happy i recovered with therapy and working out”
- Them: “what do you mean did you want to hurt yourself? you were feeling sad about yourself? you can tell me”
- Me: “no they were about something else. OCD is when people have reoccurring unwanted intrusive thoughts. Usually these thoughts have a “theme” and represent the opposite of what they want. This wasn’t my theme but for example someone could have an intrusive thoughts like ‘you should hurt that person’ and they might do an ocd compulsion to relief them from that thought because they do not like that thought that person does NOT want to kill anyone. ever. it’s the complete opposite of what someone wants to do actually. intrusive thoughts are involuntary”
- Them: “that sounds really negative. you shouldn’t think that. i thought intrusive thoughts were just like a funny tiktok thing. you…wanted to kill people?”
- Me: “again my thoughts were not about killing people it was something else. however if someone did have those thoughts that doesn’t mean they want to kill people”
This isn’t the only time this has happened. But it’s literally one of the most common disorders. you hear about
My method of getting better was by working out and therapy. it’s been 3 years and I’ve fully recovered since. but it’s funny to see how people don’t understand it

2024.11.27 03:30 jireddd I'm testing a kiln fiend list I've been brewing, any suggestions for improvements?
The list: Kiln Fiend Spellslinger
The idea is to get out [[Kiln Fiend]] and [[Goblin Electromancer]] to pump kiln fiend's power by casting spells to draw more cards to cast more spells. [[Fling]], [[Slip Through Space]], and [[Fists of Flame]] are the main way to get kiln fiend to deal damage.
The big thing I'm unsure about is my sideboard/mainboard. I feel like my main deck pretty much just plays my game while leaving the opponent alone. From playtesting, I can get somewhat consistent 20+ damage trample/unblockable swings or flings on turn 4, and pretty good consistency by turn 5, but that's not accounting for opponent disruption/removal. I think I should have some amount of interaction in the main deck, but I don't know how much I'd swap in/out.
Any feedback would be appreciated as I've pretty much only played casual pauper.

Wanted to share an example of a news show in the style of old radio. Not sure if its worth doing but I was thinking of starting a YouTube channel around it.
Here is how to build it:
Bing News API to fetch todays articles based on categories
Gemini to process them to get a script
Elevenlabs (on Sieve) for the voice over
Remotion to create video with image, audio visualizer, audio files and a lil bit of radio static.
What do you think would make this more compelling?
The cool thing about building this is once you have your brand (it could be weather reports, genz updates, heygen avatars), you can create a process around it and try to build a community.

So my girlfriend and I met on a asexual friendship and dating group on Facebook. We literally thought the universe was prank Ing us… Because we are the same age, the same height, we both use wheelchairs, and legit have the first same name. Like what? Lol.
So it’s going to be six months that we’ve officially been dating! And we couldn’t be happier. We have date nights at least twice a week. I’ve met her family. She’s met mine. We’ve had movie nights and dinners and everything.
However it is a long distance relationship… I live in Quebec Canada. And she is all the way in Ohio United States. So you know… We’ve only met up once in person, but have virtual Fun all week long!
As a surprise, I want to make a picture for her 💜 but… A slight problem… I’m blind. Yes I’m on the Internet and I can’t see crap lol. It’s called using a built-in screen reader on your phone and computer! Pretty cool technology if you ask me. I digress.
I have a couple selfies of myself. A couple selfies of my girlfriend. Some close-ups and some far away. I would like to know if someone has some decent Photoshop skills?
I would like either a close-up collage picture of our head shots side-by-side. One of us wearing a Santa hat and the other one wearing reindeer horns. And either blurry Christmas lights in the background, a fireplace/Christmas tree, or a snoring snowy forest. Whatever you feel like doing!
I also have some farther away pictures. One is myself with a comedian. And another one is my girlfriend looking at her dog. If you could make it so that you could cut out the comedian and put my girlfriend so it looks like she’s looking at me that would be another option! This one’s a little more complicated so I don’t mind if we don’t change the background. Although it would be nice.
So… Yes? No? Maybe pretty please with cake on top?
I can use either discord to send the pictures, or Facebook messenger. These are the two most accessible apps. I could try Reddit… But honestly this app is kind of a nightmare to use. Most of the time I use an app called Dystopia for Reddit. It’s a very basic and simplified app built specifically for the blind to use Reddit.
