I just finished up my bachelors and am currently pursuing my paralegal certification, which I plan to finish in December 2025.
I was getting 0 calls back on my resume for literally any legal-related job, so when I was offered this admin job at a local office I was thrilled.
To start, calling it an office is being generous. I might be spoiled because I was working admin in biotech before, but when I tell you this office is bad- imagine worse.
The attorney is a hoarder, does not maintain his building, the kitchen is disgusting, the coffee maker doesn't work, there's no potable drinking water. There's a tiny fridge that he stores his groceries in, so I keep my lunch under my desk all day.
There are ants in the bathroom, and the place is generally run down and sad.
I've been there a week, and I keep finding out worse and worse information about him.
There's a back "storage room" that is huge and contains old couches, boxes, and countless old arcade machines.
Apparently the arcade machines came from a client who's son (a marine) died. I don't know the full story, but apparently he bought them under a different name. When the marine's mom found out it was the attorney who haggled her so much on the price of these arcade machines, she ceased all work with him.
Apparently he owns properties all over which he obtained under the same circumstances- taking advantage of his unsuspecting clients and putting the homes under business names.
Today, I received a phone call from an elderly lady so confused about why she was being sued over a fender bender, informing me that "this guy is lying through his teeth" about what occurred. If you could see the attorney's truck you would be disgusted, it's all broken down and taped together- I don't want to imagine the inside. Apparently he is friends with a surgeon who faked medical records for him to sue her for already existing back issues. Anyways, the fact that he is suing an elderly woman when he is incredibly well off is just shitty.
Another phone call I received today was his poor ex wife, asking to speak to him about "the kids" (2 sons who accompanied him at work today and spent their vacation day off from school in that dingy back room I told you about). I asked him if I should transfer her and he told me to take a message. The message she gave me was "please ask him the name of the police officer he filed a report on me with so I can get a copy." I doubt he ever got back to her about "the bullshit," as he so kindly put it. It's so obvious that he's just trying to get a record started on her so he can screw her on custody over the kids.
I feel so stuck. I can't get a job anywhere else without legal experience, and my resume looks kind of job-hoppy already (not going to go into my personal trauma). I'm broke and need the money right now.
Is it worth it to try to work in admin somewhere else (not law related), likely making more money until my certificate is complete? Or should I stick it out here until my certificate is complete and try to find a new job then?
I'm kind of in shock atm, working for him is already making me question my career choice, but I've already paid for the paralegal courses.

Why are russians in game so incredibly fucking obnoxious? I was tanking a dungeon yesterday and we had a russian guy on our party, he ”accidentally” pulled and wiped us multiple times, afked after every pull, he needed on every item, did worse damage than healer, spammed russian the entire run and left as soon as he got a blue piece. When i called him out after multiple pulls saying ”hey can you watch out where you move and where your party is” he replied his first english words the entire run which were ”spong bo b sound*”, he not only pet pulled but also managed to auto run face pull multiple pacts..
And this is not the first time, every bad run i can recall from the past 2 years included a russian guy being a total fucking sub 60 mouth breather, sure accidents happen and thats totally fine, but jesus fucking christ its starting to grind my gears, i have not met a single russian player who doesnt act like this in game
I have came up with a new policy of my own, speak russian < and you are out of the party.
