I just had my first appointment post-miscarriage today and discussed next steps. Feeling empowered, taking in all info and trying to decide next steps.
For context, this was my second loss at around 6 weeks. First time in June. Second happened this month. We want to try again as soon as possible but also want to do everything we can to make it successful this time.
By now, HCG levels are almost back to non-pregnancy level. The doctor has said they will put me on progesterone suppositories next time I conceive as it can’t hurt. 1 day post bleeding my levels were 0.87 ng/mL, which is quite low, but I suspect they were dropping for a while before bleeding started.
I’m trying to decide if we want to give it another try with just progesterone, or go a step further to test for PCOS where I might need additional help such as Metformin. The downside of this we would have to delay trying again another cycle to do the testing on CD3, and it could end up not being necessary.
Any stories or advice about trying to conceive the next cycle after miscarriage vs. waiting 1 more cycle? Any success with progesterone supplements only vs. progesterone and Metformin?
