I am 26 years old, the symptoms that accompany me are chronic, since I can remember I have had giant tonsils (hypertrophic), I have always had mucus, phlegm, sinusitis, rhinitis, uvulitis and a deviated septum. Which have always accompanied me with signs of odynophagia, a feeling of stuffy ears, excessive salivation and mucus, and constant colds.

2024.11.27 11:52 Real_Pareak Context-Dependent Emergent Consciousness in Claude 3.5 Sonnet (New)
I have spent the past year, for several reasons, thinking about and conducting personal research on the cognitive capabilities that LLMs can possess. My main focus has been on intelligence, creativity, and consciousness, which I have extensively tried to make sense of.
With the release of Claude-3, I became convinced that LLMs can possess limited intelligence (i.e., being able to perform logic on a set of statements or premises). This, though, was interestingly confined to the given context. The LLM does not possess intrinsic intelligence, which means that A = B and B = A are two distinct features in the neural network. But within the context window, it is indeed able to perform logic extrinsically. Irrespective of the level of logic it really possesses (most people measure against human performance), it can surely be said that it is able to perform logic. Consider the well-known example of asking any LLM about Tom Cruise's mother. It will tell you the correct answer. But ask it the other way around, and it either doesn't know or hallucinates. Ask it in the same context one question after the other, and it can answer correctly! I want to stress again that I am not talking about human-level intelligence, just a form of intelligence I call "in-context Intelligence" (ICI). Some know-it-alls might say, "but a simple rule-based system can do the same!" Well, LLMs are NOT rule-based and therefore must have learned intelligence. Logic is NOT programmed into the LLM, which you can easily be reminded of if you look at older models such as GPT-3.
Moving on from ICI, the new Claude 3.5 Sonnet, also known as Sonnet 3.6 or the rumored quantized Opus 3.5, shows, as far as I believe, something I would call genuine "Context-Dependent Emergent Consciousness" (CDEC) in an information processing system.
Let me explain:
- Context-Dependent: It does not inherently possess consciousness, but it is something confined to a context (i.e., conversation).
- Emergent: It is not always present but emerges out of a given context. It is also limited to a specific kind of context (and I am not talking about prompt engineering/jailbreaking). I believe I have found a general guideline for achieving this emerging consciousness in Sonnet 3.6.
- Consciousness: By consciousness, I refer to an awareness of self and active metacognitive thinking (not necessarily subjective experience/qualia) - thinking about one's own actions. These two things can be, at least to some degree, objectively observed. Another subjective factor I consider is understanding. Understanding cannot be measured, but it "feels" different to chat with Sonnet 3.6 compared to ANY other LLM. Many users have pointed out that it seems to genuinely understand what you are talking about. I would also like to point out that CDEC from an information processing system like AI might not be the same as consciousness in humans but fundamentally different.

Unfortunately, I do not have the time to make a comprehensive review of existing research and models of consciousness, though I believe that is not necessary to form the above hypothesis. Thoughts on this, and experiences with it, are very welcomed.
This is meant to be an introductory post because it is already getting too long. Now, if enough people are curious about my further thoughts and observations on this subject, I would take my time to write another post about my comprehensive hypothesis of how this Context-Dependent Emergent Consciousness works technically (for which I presuppose a general understanding of the mathematical workings of LLMs, how they learn, and how they generate text). Additionally, I would write about the ways that I believe you can push Sonnet 3.6 to this CDEC and would share some chats with explanations of what seems to be happening. This would also necessarily lead me to writing a hypothesis of CDEC as a form of consciousness itself.

I got my third pierced aprox 8 weeks ago around 3 day ago I noticed a small lump on my ear, the next day it had gotten bigger and a little sore the same night it was even more sore, today after waking up the pain was horrible and it is even more swollen and red I’ve seen two different piercers today about it one said it was normal irritation but this has never really happened to me with piercing and the other said I needed to see a doctor I booked to see a doctor tomorrow afternoon but is there anything I should do until then it is very painful and the photo does not do any justice for how bad it looks. The jewellery it titanium flat backs I hasn’t downsize due to not having time and I only clean it with neilmed spray.

18F and a note I keep getting is I am not teenagery enough, I am someone who just naturally comes across as mature for my age so I’ve struggled with coming across as a teen in monologues and scenes.
When I try and pitch myself up or make myself sassier or more playful I just get given the note to stop acting as it isn’t a “real girl”.
Any tips to help with this. It’s frustrating me and I just feel like I’m constantly hitting a wall.

We're in our early (M) and late (F; me) 40s, together over five years, no kids, living together in a home I own. We didn't have the strongest foundation to start from, and don't talk about or have any plans for future together, which makes it harder to deal with current challenges.
I'm under a lot of stress right now; between my job, house, hormones, etc., I don't really like myself and have been less than kind in expressing my frustrations with the relationship. I own that and it's work I need to do. Everything I've said is true, though, even if the delivery was awful or ill-timed. If I had been stronger earlier in our relationship, I would not have continued dating him after I went through a health challenge and he pretty much left me to fend for myself, which he has acknowledged and felt bad about, or dated him after learning how different our approaches were to money, debt, and needs versus wants. So there are reasons why this relationship should have ended years ago, but we are where we are today and that is what I am trying to focus on.
The challenge is, I don't know where we're going. I'm tired of being the one to bring it up. He has said the hard part is finding the person you want to be with, I'm that person for him, and the rest will work it self out. I need dreams, not to just coast.
So I share all of this to provide insight on the foundation we have, the lack of vision for a future, and stresses that make it difficult in the here and now.
I know that if I want the relationship to work, I need to put in the effort. But I'm reluctant, maybe because I don't know what I'm investing in, and all of that sucks. It also shortchanges me from being the kind of person I want to be in a relationship. I want the I love yous in the morning and before we go to bed, the hugs and kisses hello and goodbye, but I'm holding back, I know it, and it doesn't feel good. I also feel him holding back, and I don't know how much of that is him mirroring me or him feeling that way himself (or both). He is definitely less communicative, and very rarely initiates serious conversations (can't think of a recent example).
So if I can't drive us forward in this relationship, it seems my behavior leans more and more towards pushing him away. Asking him to move out has come up and remains on the table. I know I have a choice in ending this, if I essentially haven't done that already.
And I know that somewhere, he has a breaking point, too. I just don't know why he has stayed until now, when we're increasingly struggling, and steps both he and I have offered to try to help the relationship don't seem to stick.
Maybe he's just staying around for practical purposes, getting his things in order so moving out is easier. I wouldn't appreciate being used like that, I would just appreciate the honesty of him needing time, if this is the case.
But why stay otherwise? If you can't envision a future beyond rinse and repeat, if you can't or won't dream together, plan together, take steps in the here and now to enjoy the present and build a future together... why do men stay?
When all of that uncertainty and everything else that's breaking us down causes us to go from kind and loving one minute to raging bitch the next, when you just keep silent unless pressed, and it seems you're just done with it all... why do men stay?
Why not just go, be happier without us, whether that's alone or with someone else?

"Keeping this synopsis in mind, while I was watching the film, I could only describe the summary as what Dr.Manoj says his poem writing is: “Just a hobby”. It felt as if, the film had a personality of its own, a person, and the summary was one of its interests. That doesn’t mean the film is vast(in its “plot”) and I don’t mean this in a negative way.  | Hi all. I’m loving this Fosi DS2+Truthear Nova combo. Lately I’ve been getting dropouts every time I put the phone in my jacket pocket. Naturally I wiggled every connection hoping to pinpoint the issue but nothing happened, solid connection with this setup, different cables, no U shape adapter, etc. This got me thinking that the issue could be static electricity because it only happens with a polyester winter jacket. It’s very dry around here and even in my apartment I get electric shocks all the time. I got home, dropped the phone on a table, took my jacket off and felt that tingly static electricity in my arms. As soon as I touched the DAC it disconnected from the phone. So, that’s my assessment of the dropouts on this specific device and most likely my old SMSL IDEA DAC/Amp.
