- Something related to creative marketing or branding, as that's where my career interests lie.

2024.11.27 12:32 ttrobaugh Booting into Recovery Mode on OS 13 has left my imac unbootable - I/O, NCQ, and non-NCQ errors
I am using OS 13 Ventura. I do not understand AFPS and how the two partitions/drives, System and Data, interact. I don't even know the nomenclature.
I was investigating creating a disk image of my boot drive (as I was able to do with HFS+), so I booted into Internet Recovery Mode with the intention of using Disk Utility. I discovered that I could not do what I wanted, so I restarted. Note: I did nothing while in Recovery Mode -- no first aid, nothing; all I did was 1) go Disk Utility > File > New Image, 2) saw that "Image from Drive" was greyed out, 3) Restarted.
Now my machine won't boot. Verbose Mode tells me that there seems to be an I/O error with disk2s1 -- I get cyclical "NCQ error caused by queued command" and "non-NCQ error." disk2 is not my boot drive; it is a disk image. I wonder if it is the disk image that was built when I went into recovery mode.
While in recovery mode I specified boot drive I wanted to use -- only my real and true boot drive was listed. I have no other peripherals attached - only my keyboard - and I continue to get the error. Holding down the Alt/Option key does not give me the Startup Manager.
I have tried using target mode to figure out was is going on, but the host machine (Sonoma) tells me that my Thunderbolt cable is not actually a Thunderbolt cable, so the Target disk won't mount.
I look forward to any help you can give me.

(For concerts, not sporting events) - Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I canāt find the answer anywhere, Iāve even reached out to Ball and Ticketmaster but havenāt been answered. Ticketmaster has tickets for sale to shows and then a whole separate event for club level seating to these shows. Do these seats include anything extra? Or are they literally just seat in the club level?

I wanna say that this is my perspective. Many people have good things to say about Depo, but I thought since I (and my sister) had a bad experience with it I'd share my story. Depo was probably the worst medical decision I made for myself. I'm 18 and when I was 17 I began depo because my periods were so severe. I had no idea what it would do to my body. My family has a history of adverse side effects with any type of birth control (I didn't know this until way later when my issues started) and my family also has a history of high blood pressure. I wasn't worried about either of these things because I, at the time, was a triathlete and ate (and I still do) healthily. I was going to sign up for the Army National Guard (mostly to pay for schooling) when the problems first started. I had to go in for a physical when it was shown that my blood pressure was wayyyy higher than it should be (like I should almost be sent to the hospital kinda high) and that was a really big problem. After that I had to get many different tests done over the course of several months, cut back on almost my entire salt intake and change my diet to try and help reduce my blood pressure, and exercise as much as possible (all good things, but it was hard to change everything all at once). Nothing worked and all the tests I'd done (there were dozens of tests) came back negative/normal. My blood pressure couldn't be kept under control with diet and exercise, so I had to be placed on medication. This may not sound like the worlds worst problem, but any doctor would know that a healthy 18 year old should never have to be put on blood pressure meds when they have a healthy and active lifestyle with no illnesses. Whenever I go to pick up my prescription the pharmacist asks why someone my age needs to be on meds for blood pressure. I have since stopped the depo shot, but the hypertension still remains and so do the side effects of having hypertension. I get dizzy and can faint super easy for just standing and doing nothing, I get vertigo and car sickness super easy, I've been to the hospital a few times due to heart episodes, and all in all it's just taken its toll on my mental health as well having to worry about all these things and trying to not pass out in public. It's been scary and confusing, and all I can do is take my meds and pray to god it goes away one day.

Iām not one to put controversial statements online, so hear me out! š
Iāve been using a Regular Travelers Company TN for a few years now.
Itās predominantly been used when out and about, opting for the easier to write in William Hannah A5 notebook when Iām at my desk/doing work.
I initially loved the size of the Regular TN, but my overall love for it has faded somewhatā¦..
Iāve now moved to the Paper Republic A5 Portfolio (same height as the Regular TN, but a touch wider) - Although itās worth noting that itās not really designed for A5 notebooks, and the refills are their āXLā size (which is in-between TN Regular size and A5).
My issues with the TN are well documented by other people, so Iām not going to dwell too much on it.
For me, the main gripes are:
- Doesnāt lay flat and constantly a challenge to write in
- Even when you get it flat, the humps in the middle combined with the thin width make the writing experience less enjoyable
- Elastic hump at the back - Not a deal breaker, but annoying.
What I have realised since moving away from the Travelers Company TN, is that SO much of the attraction to it does not lie in the āmainā product itself (the actual notebook), it lies in the company, the community and the array of āofficialā options - From notebook inserts and accessories, to the pop up shops, stamps and general community vibe.
I just wondered, does anyone else feel that way, and that they are indeed compromising on the user experience of the notebook, but feel the rest of it makes up for it?

i keep asking my friends to send me datesheet and i also asked them to send the pdf jisme presentation k topics likhe hain (we are gonna present together) but they do not send me anything??? i literally asked some random ass girl from class and she sent me everything but not my friends of 1.5 years?
they cheat from me when there are tests happening and make me explain assignments to them like wtf.
they're all dumb and got into college with rly rly low scores compared to the rest of the class and i can't even count on them for anything.
now ik yall will say "why're you friends w them then" pls stfu college is hard and it's difficult to find decent people. this is not the first time they've done smth like this but this might be my last straw i dont want to be friends w them anymore

Hi all, please no judgement here, Iām aware that it shouldāve been checked, it was an honest and obvious mistake that wonāt happen again. I was travelling abroad from London this morning and was not allowed on the flight due to a typo in my visa. BA are giving me two options - lose out on over Ā£2k or pay a good few hundred pp to change destination and flight. Both of these options would be worst case scenario. Iām wondering if anyone has dealt with something similar and if you have any advice on anything I could say / do to BA to at least get some of this money back or potentially lessen the destination change charge? I would be so grateful for any advice. We have insurance but I donāt think it covers this. Iām a U.K. resident if this helps.
