2024.11.27 13:39 No-Bunch6983 When do I know to get another car instead of keep fixing the current car?
Our current car, 2010 Chevy Impala with 140K mileage, is not passing the inspection because of the engine light. The car also turned off while I was waiting for the light to make a left turn at the intersection two weeks ago. The car shakes and makes some noises while idling.
The first mechanic who did our inspection said the issue might be the catalytic converter and the total cost to fix it would be $1,500. We googled it and seemed like it’ll be cheaper to bring it to another mechanic who does welding. This second mechanic who does the welding thought the problem is with the fuel pressure regulator instead of the catalytic converter. Both places are picking up the same sensor reading, which shows that the car is running “too rich.” We fixed the fuel pressure regulator first because the total cost was cheaper than fixing the catalytic converter (fixing the fuel pressure regulator was $700).
The car is moving and the engine light is off as of now, but we are not sure if it fixed the issue of the car turning off unexpectedly. It still makes some noises while idling.
Should we go ahead and fix the catalytic converter (probably another $1000-$1500 to fix) or do you think we are wasting our money trying to fix this car? We started looking into buying a used Toyota just in case. We aren’t sure if it’s fixing the catalytic converter is worth it to be able to pass the inspection & drive for now then trade in to get a used car in a few months by summer 2025 OR trade in as-is and get a used car now.

I’m planning to treat myself to a new game this Black Friday, but I’m stuck deciding between Stellar Blade for PS5 or S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 for PC. My budget is limited to around 60 euros, so I can only pick one, and I really want to make the most of my choice.
To give you an idea of my gaming preferences, I love third-person action games with smooth controls, engaging combat mechanics, and a well-crafted story. At the same time, I really enjoy open-world games with immersive environments and plenty of exploration opportunities.
Some of my all-time favorite games include:
- The Witcher 3 – The deep storytelling and expansive open world drew me in completely.
- AC Origins/Odyssey – Loved the exploration, combat, and historical settings.
- GTA San Andreas – A classic, with its blend of story and open-ended gameplay.
- Uncharted series – I’m a big fan of the cinematic action and character-driven narratives.
- CS2 & Hunt Showdown – For the multiplayer thrill and tactical gameplay.
- Cyberpunk 2077 – Despite its initial issues, I enjoyed the world and narrative.
- Dead Cells & Hades – These are great for their tight gameplay and roguelike elements.

I think this qualifies for a classic case as this is one of the biggest developing UFO stories we’ve ever had.
Someone mentioned a sidewinder missile that took down the unidentified craft over Alaska, yet, these things can swarm US Military airspace with no action taken.
I believe most of the military genuinely doesn’t know what these are, BUT the intelligence community has notified the highest ranking personnel at bases to not take action, that they’re not a threat, and we know what they are.
However, I doubt further details are given and surely nobody lower on the rung are being informed.
I think this leads us to two hypothetical conclusions.
1) It is of human origin, possibly reverse engineered craft, and they are testing them above military installations with highest ranking personnel being told to stand down, although they should try their best to monitotrack them. Almost like testing out new “tech” in a simulation exercise unbeknownst to the military aside from an order to not fire upon them.
2) It is of non human origin. The intelligence community has known and still knows what it is, but has given orders to the bases to also stand down. While 99.999% of the base is unaware and has not been told what they are, but to NOT fire upon them and stand down.
It is inconceivable that the Military would “allow” this to go on without swift actions taken over sensitive military airspace. Unless they were informed by the director of National Intelligence or CIA to not take action, and do their best to track them, maneuver them, put “current” radar and infrared as well as flight gps up to task, with the promise of not needing to worry as it’s a “classified” project.
But I think this either shows its ours and not known to the current military at large, or it’s NHI and there’s nothing we can do about it, and they don’t want to cause panic.
If you know anything about the U.S. military, they do not mess around with things like this. A private drone would be taken out so fast you wouldn’t even have time to blink, let alone multiple for days on end.
None of it makes sense for me outside these two scenarios where the silence is deafeningly loud. The silence and refusal to give the public a non BS answer is screaming volumes and it feels like things are starting to heat up.
Whether it involves NHI or our own reversed tech in possible preparation for a WW3 scenario, I have no idea but something is very, very off about this whole scenario. And it seems to almost be worldwide and I can almost guarantee the same is happening over in China and Russia, but they would never announce it to save face and not admit something is in their airspace that they can’t do anything about.

2024.11.27 13:39 Zukanna Deciding to stay on 2.5mg - how did it go for you?
Just some thought rambles for anyone else on the fence about titrating up and why I decided not to (in case it helps) :)
So today is the day I ordered my second pen and after much thought I decided to stay on 2.5mg. I've read a lot on here about people mentioning therapeutic dosage of 5mg etc... A lot of this seems based on studies to do with T2D requiring 5mg and the fact that all general recommendations for taking MJ for weight loss is to titrate up every 4 weeks as standard.
However, I've had amazing results on my first 2.5mg pen and continue to feel good levels of food suppression (although yes it will never be as strong as week 1 given the jump between ALL the food noise and then no food noise). Will this maybe slow down my weight loss? Possibly. Going up to 5mg might have boosted me to maintain higher levels of weight loss each week, but I'd rather ensure I take the dosage that is currently working for me and move up when it feel it no longer works. I've lost 7.3kg in 2 weeks so far, and I decided to do a mid week weigh in today to check how I'm doing before making a final decision and almost another whole 1kg down this week already.
So there you go, some random thoughts from a stranger on the internet about staying on 2.5mg. Has anyone else decided to stay on 2.5mg for longer than the initial pen, and how did you find it?
