 | I just made the switch from Half-Life Alyx to Metro Awakening and have already put in about 4 hours. Honestly, it feels super close to Alyx, and I’m loving it! At first, I was a bit thrown off since I kept trying to grab everything like in Alyx, but not everything is interactable here. Metro Awakening definitely has some creepy moments, so I’d recommend using headphones for an even more immersive experience. The PrismXR Vega T1 is a solid choice for that! so i was driving from ras al khor (E44W) and took the exit to oud metha road (E44N). For the exit i was not aware that its only 1 line taking the exit and thought its 2 hence stayed on the left lane. It was until the white solid where i realized that its only 1 line exit and i change my lane and there were no vehicles obstructed on the empty road (I had changed the line as soon as i had seen the white solid which i also went over on). At the end yellow diverge i noticed the camera, will i get fined?

2024.11.27 15:40 Forest_Haze Am I excluding another Aro/ace person by putting romance in our campaign?
I'm putting together a campaign in a very grounded and modern setting for a system that accommodates this. One of my players I knew was Aro/Ace due to use bonding over this in a chat for a different game.
I'm aromantic and gray ace with a queer platonic partner whose also aromantic. So they mentioned feeling safe in an environment with other Aros.
They mentioned they didn't want to play out any romance and I assured them they wouldn't have to partake in anything they didn't want. A bit of back and forth happened and they realized I meant that I was still allowing other players to. Including a guy who might want his character to come in with a boyfriend and NPCs in romantic relationships with each other (including being married etc.)
They got very upset and messaged me about how upset they were I blindsided them and thought I'd understand wanting to have a space away from "all of this bullshit".
I did apologize but mentioned I just like romantic storylines and wanted to give other people that opportunity and we'll - it just would make sense in a modern day setting some NPCs would be from the same families/couples.
They asked if I'd be willing to change things to omit any onscreen mentions of romance in the setting and this may be where I fucked up. I said no. I told them it was no hard feelings but I think the way I build settings and run things just doesn't seem to match their preferences. They got really upset.
I feel really bad and I don't know how to feel about the situation over all.

I have a B in 3 classes. I hate my Physical Science teacher because I didn't pay attention and she gave me an attitude and failed me twice on 2 assignments for that. I got a C on a Computer Science Test, and I'm struggling with Honors English. I just want to know if I am able to bring these grades back up to an A before Midterms, as well on tips on how to prepare for Midterms to bring up my Semester Average. There are going to be meetings for class registration for Sophomore year next month and I want to bring those grades up so I have a better chance of getting into Honors and AP classes for next year. Please help me, this is really important.

So a question I've been confused about/pretty uncertain about for a long time.
I know that "-1 speed" refers to, for example, having your support (Sparkle, Bronya, Sunday) 1 speed slower than your DPS. Here's where I get confused:
Considering how difficult "finely tuning" speed is, does it actually HAVE to be exactly -1..?
For example, let's say my Jing Yuan is 141 speed, and my Sunday is 136 speed. Would this matter so long as there's not a random character (like the sustain) that is 138 speed? Does it have to be 134 : 135, or is it flexible?
Thanks for any clarifications, I don't know why this always confused me so much.

Someone may have found this before, but I thought I'd share just in case.
Researching potential names for my RW fanfic sent me down a mini rabbit hole, inside which I found this surprisingly extensive list of Buddhist concepts: Buddhism by Numbers.
One entry on the list caught my eye:

"Five Fetters". Even the pronunciation is nearly identical.
So, I immediately started googling. From what I gathered:
The ten fetters) in Buddhism are ten emotional "shackles" that one must shed in order to reach Nirvana. (Sound familiar?) The term "five fetters" is usually used to refer to the first five of the ten, the lower fetters. These are the ones you see on the picture.
And these five fetters just happen to very strongly resemble Five Pebbles' personal flaws and issues.
- Individuality
- "Of course I can deconstruct and reconstruct myself safely! No, there's no need to pay attention to my local group leader's warnings, it can't be that important."
- "Surely, the correct precautions are to cut off all communications and not warn anyone in advance."
- "What? She's drying up? Whatever, I need to get this done first, then she can have all the water she wants."
- Scepticism
- "Ah, look at these ancients dancing their silly rituals. There's no way abandoning mortal desires would solve my issues. That can only be done with microbiology and self-surgery."
- Clinging to rites and rules
- Well, he does have a taboo list inside every cell of his body.
- Aside from that, he does technically devoutly follow all of the rules set by his creators. Solving the Great Problem, ascending everything that comes to him, et cetera.
- The fact that his creators forgot to add a "don't drown your sister" rule is not his problem.
- Craving or desire
- FP has a one-track mind on solving the Great Problem and self-ascending. Like, it is the only thing he ever wants to do pre-Rivulet.
- Hatred
- This one is the hardest to tie to FP, because he doesn't have any strong personal grudges (except Spearmaster and SRS if you count the DLC)...
- ...but I do feel like there is a lot of unspoken, built-up hate there.
- I mean, his creators all went to ascend and left him unable to, his best friend's proposed solution to his sadness was "kill yourself," and his sister, though reasonably under the circumstances, denied him event that.
- I think his calm demeanor in dialogue is just his "adherence to rules" showingup, which manages to dillute "hateful" into "passive-aggressive" but other than that, I could definitely see him boiling with rage at the world with every part of his 387.44 million miles of printed circuits.

I’m heading to Vegas in May for 5 nights with 5 friends (from UK).
I booked an AirBnB in Downtown (close to the South end of Rancho Drive and West Oakley Blvd). It wasn’t a second thought as we’re a large group with a potential 7th person joining us, there’s a pool and we can enjoy the shared spaces as a group.
We will of course want to explore the strip and visit many attractions but are also looking at spending time in Downtown/Fremont Street area as well as a potential day trip. It’s a celebration trip so we will want to go out and drink but we still aren’t the most wild party people (maybe stick to one heavy night).
Only after doing a bit of research have I found that people seem a little wary of AirBnBs in Vegas for varied reasons (location, weird legal issues, housing crisis ofc). I still have time to cancel for a full refund but is it worth making the switch? We’re okay with getting Ubers/Lyft but i realise being on the strip may save us a few journeys over the course of the trip.
Our budget is £1700 so approximately $2100 for accommodation.
After a quick check the Horseshoe, Excalibur, The Strat and a few others seem to be within budget on comparison sites.
TLDR: Should I cancel my Downtown AirBnB and book at a budget - mid range strip hotel instead?
