2024.11.27 15:50 Jackd_up_on_Mdew 2019 Silverado LT Trail Boss Cold Weather Service ESC, Service Trailer Brake, Service ABS, Speed Limited to 62mph

I need help! I have a 2019 Silverado Trail Boss that throws a bunch of errors and codes when it sits outside in freezing temps, but never any other time. Service ESC, Service Trailer Brake, Service ABs, Speed limited to 62mph/43mph and so on.... Last year I called the dealer and told them the errors and the codes my Blue Driver scan tool showed and he was positive it was the battery even though it seemed fine. I replaced it and next freezing night it did it again. I can run the truck for 15 minutes, shut it off, open the door, then restart it with no errors and runs fine. I feel like it could be some kind of problem inside the cab, but not sure what to check and the dealer is dumbfounded and I know will just throw parts at it.

Okay so pretty straightforward here. My (27) gf (26) and I have been together for 4 years. I finally feel like I’m starting to get more on my feet money wise and to me money is no object, I don’t mind spending it on larger items and I tend to not buy smaller things regularly (clothes, shoes etc) and just buy one or two big things I want or whatever.
Both of us are in grad school and I am a lot more tech and internet savvy. She has an older MacBook idk the model and is constantly struggling with getting the right updates, storage, and getting apps and assignments to work. It’s also just kind of buggy, having sound issues, software issues and the like. I told her I could get her a laptop for Xmas and she said she didn’t want one several times and that she would bring hers into the Apple Store. It’s been months of that kind of thing and now she has just resorted to using my laptop for school.
So the other day, I noticed that Best Buy has its Black Friday sale going on. I have been trying to salvage my credit and using the Best Buy store card to purchase things I want and pay them off over time. I was getting myself an iPad and saw a really nice laptop on sale. It is also a Windows laptop which I feel is more user friendly and works better for a lot of applications and assignments for classes. Although she had said she didn’t want a new one hers has been getting worse and worse and she is super busy with school and work, I decided to put it on the card and that way I can pay it off over a couple of months interest free. I figured it could just be a nice gift, a little on the extra side, but I can afford it and we’ve been together a long time. I thought it would just alleviate some amount of stress while she finishes school and starts work and not have to worry about her devices failing and losing anything.
I texted her and said something like, “I’m getting you just one big present this year!” feeling excited. And she responded with, “wait not a laptop though” and preceded to get upset over it. She said that she didn’t want to waste her old one because of her morals and even kind of turned it at me saying “this is the one thing I told you didn’t want” and said I should return it and so on. She could not even comprehend why I was upset and simply thought it was because of the money. Kind of argued about it a bit, nothing serious, but she was just totally not interested or even slightly grateful. I never even mentioned the price and I genuinely do not care I wanted to do something a little bigger this year and I know hers is dying and she doesn’t have the money to get a new one when the time comes. Now she says she will just take hers in and if they can’t fix it she’ll take it but it’s kind of like okay damn.
I get she said she didn’t want it, I do, but is it not a little self centered to reject it because of morals and then get mad because she said she didn’t want it? Am I wrong for it?

Top bottom or outfit? I was told last time to get top bottom but wasnt sure why. Right now farming in AF90 and i saw that people say that top bottom is good for sf to survive in sf194 or smt but if i just want damage which should i continue upgrading? Hi y'all,
I have a NUC-like system (Minisforum HM80 with an AMD Ryzen 7 4800U) running as a server with Jellyfin, Nextcloud, VMs, containers, etc., but with only 2 HDDs! I want to invest in some more serious storage capabilities, and I'm looking for help/feedback.
4-bays seems within my price range. Energy is quite expensive where I live, so this (together with $$$ and reliability ofc) is the key factor when deciding.
After some thinking, I've boiled it down to two options:

  1. A JBOD enclosure
  2. A NAS
JBOD I thought about getting an IcyBox IB-3740-C31. As it lacks onboard processing power, I would guess it's the most energy efficient? It would also allow for faster transport speeds with USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10Gbps) compared to NAS.
Not using the hardware RAID and using ZFS RAIDZ1 seems the way to go.
NAS For the NAS, I thought about a Asustor AS1104T. This has a 2.5Gbs Ethernet for transport. That would be slower than the JBOD and also I'm not sure if I can install alternative software such as TrueNAS on it.
never used TrueNAS myself, but people seem to like it which seems like a good reason to try. My current system will have Proxmox, so basically everything?
Drives The cheapest/size option for me are Seagate Exos x18 drives 16TB. But these are enterprise grade drives. Would the enclosure/NAS handle the extra vibrations/heat? Also are they really as loud that they would bother me if I put my NAS in a cupboard? Would I maybe be better off paying more for NAS drives?

2024.11.27 15:50 IntrepidAd3551 What is the difference between pex files in scripts folder and psc files in source folder in scripts folder?

As the title says, I was planning compact form id so that I can eslify more mods that contain less references. The only reason I do so is I came to a limitation for my modlist. Basically what I need to do is, compact form id and turn them into esl, keep the sseedit log so that I can check form id changes, go to the mod folder, decompile scripts and change the old form ids into new ones, and then compile scripts, replace old pex files. Unfortunately, when I look deep down inside all those craps, I find some of the psc files in source are not the same as the decompiled pex files, although they have the same name, and behind getformfromfile is no longer form ids or something, just temp id which in my mind is no need to take care of. SO I TOTALLY CONFUSED, I have no clue what I should do because in my mind, pex files and psc files should be exactly the same thing, the only difference is pex files are used by game and psc files are edited by users or mod authors so that people don't need to decompile it, just for convenience.
