One day a wizard offers you a secret notebook. The pages of the notebook are blank and it looks like any old notebook from the outside.
He tells you that the notebook can answer any questions you ask it. You simply write your question on the first page and as if by magic a detailed response appears on the remaining pages throughout the notebook.
Want to know what happens after death? If your favourite sports team will win a championship soon? If Hitler is alive and well in Argentina? Anything you want to ask is answered. Once you close the notebook it goes back to being blank.
Anyone else who looks at the notebook can only see empty pages at all time - the magic answers are only visible by you. They will just think you’re slightly odd if they catch you reading it as it will seem you’re reading blank paper.
Now the kicker. If you choose to take the notebook a spell is placed on you that makes it impossible to ever speak about, write about, or carry out any action related to that direct subject ever again.
Find out aliens exist? Great for you. But now if the subject ever comes up in conversation you are not physically able to speak about it. You can’t write down what you know as your body will stop you from writing - and yes charades is stopped too.
Find out who murdered your parents after a night at the theatre? You can never speak about their murder again or carry out any action against that individual.
Would you take the notebook and what would you ask if so?
Unlimited knowledge but knowledge only you in the whole world will potentially ever know (with nothing you can do with it) and no one to ever share it with, with the added side effect of not being able to discuss a topic ever again you potentially love.
I would add that if you take the notebook, you have to ask at least one question every year or it stops working. No hoarding it for your death bed to find out everything just before you kick the bucket

My daydreams used to be more traditional when I was little, now they either consist of pretending to be a YouTubereactor, or a performer when listening to music, regardless of whether or not I actually relate to it, and in both scenarios I feel connected to my imaginary personas inspired by idols. Either that or I will simply zone out and ten seconds of a song in my head will play on loop, which I get used to and barely notice.
The main detriments that these things have is I don't learn anything in school, like I basically go there and then leave, and also my fantasies could potentially be making me egotistical, as it almost feels as if the lies I tell myself in them become true to me not entirely but somewhat.

OG Stalker here. The best character in this Series is the Zone.
A-life is one part of the character's quirky personality. A-life makes everything feel so much more alive, and the one thing I am missing is the world feeling dynamic in S2, as it just feels too static without it.
The Zone and everything it entails, from the atmosphere to factions and A-life, is what makes a Stalker game. While a function A-life is sorely missed, it alone does not make a Stalker game.
