I work behind a bar in a chain pub in the U.K that has a popularly dubious reputation. I recently applied to a position at a small, independent cafe-bar as a barista and bartender, the hourly wage being advertised at £8.60-£12. £8.60 is under minimum wage for my age category, so I assumed I’d be on £12. I had my induction today, and it said £11.44 on my contract, which is less than I earn at my current dubious-reputation pub. I didn’t say anything as it felt awkward as I was with several other new-hires, and just signed the contract. However I’m now reconsidering if the new job is worth it; there are several downsides compared to my current job, such as no free staff meal. But, I really want to leave my current workplace. I’m wondering if it would be acceptable to email my new employer and try and negotiate my wage. Any opinions?

A uns dois anos eu (26H) conheci uma amiga (28M) no trabalho, nós trabalhamos juntos e passamos muita coisa, então acabamos nos tornando muito próximos.
No final do ano passado nós meio que nos enfiamos em um outro grupo que achavamos que era legal, mas que acabou custando mentalmente pra nós dois, pra ela especialmente. Seja por mentira, enganação ou só maldade mesmo, ela já teve algumas crises por conta desse pessoal, e por ser a pessoa mais próxima e que mais se importa com ela, normalmente sou eu que tenho que acalmar ela e ajudar ela a se sentir melhor.
Acontece que ela é o tipo de pessoa que gosta de estar bem com todo mundo, e acha que tudo é culpa dela com muita facilidade. Portanto todas as vezes que essa galera machucou ela, ela voltou atrás e tentou concertar as coisas. Na segunda vez eu chutei o caneco e me afastei deles totalmente, mas ela continuou frequentando os rolês e conversando com eles.
Porém mesmo que eu tenha largado eles, as vezes quando dá merda, ainda sou eu que tenho que ir lá e costurar as feridas dela, por que eu sou assim, não gosto de ver pessoas que eu gosto sofrendo. Mas ultimamente eu venho me sentindo tão mal em saber que ela ainda sai com eles, que eu comecei a adotar uma política de me auto preservar, mesmo a custo de "abandonar" ela.
Disse que daqui pra frente ela vai ser totalmente responsável por qualquer sofrimento que ela venha a ter, e que ela não deve vir buscar qualquer forma de amparo comigo exceto se ela me GARANTIR que abandonou totalmente todo esse pessoal que nos fez mal, não importa o quanto ela sente que gosta deles, do contrário não vou poder oferecer nada além de "eu avisei".
De qualquer forma, sou babaca por isso? De certa forma consigo imaginar que eu poderia ser babaca por forçar ela a escolher entre eu e eles, apesar de me sentir ofendido por ter que chegar a esse ponto. Mas é sério, não vi outra escolha, isso tava me fazendo muito mal, e ficar catando os cacos de uma pessoa que você gosta, vez atrás de vez é algo que machuca muito, por que não só vc tem que testemunhar alguém que gosta sofrer, como tem que lidar com o sentimento de que o seu esforço não serviu de absolutamente nada, como se você estivesse secando gelo.
E só pra esclarecer, ela não me "usa", não é uma pessoa folgada nem nada, é uma pessoa valiosa pra mim, por que em tudo o que diz respeito a nós dois, ela é simplesmente incrível, porém essa situação em si é extremamente problemática, ela simplesmente não aceita que é normal estar de mal com as pessoas que te fazem mal.

 | I replaced the steering box on my 78 with a rebuilt. Housing of the new is identical to the old but the shaft for the pitman arm is threaded for a different nut size. My original had M24-1.5 (36mm) which is too big. I tried a M20-1.5 (30mm) on the new, too small. I am guessing it is a M22-1.5 which I don't have but can order. Research suggests those are the only sizes used. I have a couple questions:

Hey guys so I've been riding my lynx for almost 3,000 miles and I've had moments where I've gone over 45 but I find that it's usually not easy it seems like I kind of hit a little bit of a wall around the low 40s where it takes significant effort to get past that and I've actually seen somebody else in this group post about that and I'm wondering if it's the Lynx or if it's just in general with wheels maybe it's just the wind resistance or something? Also I'm curious how much of a difference does high speed mode make? I don't think it's necessary in this case but it's just another thing I'm curious about.

IMO the only logical solution would be to play the remaining games at Loan Depot Park, since it's the closest MLB stadium and readily available and least keeps them in the state of Florida.
Unless you can quickly retrofit Raymond James Stadium for baseball, which would have kept the Rays closer to home, but result in some janky ass ballpark dimensions (see Dodgers at LA Coliseum in the '50s)
