I have had the implant since August and I am not kidding when I say I have bled everyday since. It was only spotting at the beginning which, which was manageable, however, I have now had three periods in the space of a month. Each of these were unpredictable and really threw me.
I know that irregular bleeding is a common side effect of Implanon, and I haven’t had it in long enough for my body to regulate itself yet, however, I’m unsure if having it is is worth this bleeding. I haven’t had many other bad side effects so I’m wondering is I should just wait it out and see if it stops… any advice or personal experiences would be appreciated!!

There has been some opinions regarding the possibility of changing ascendancy classes in PoE2 due to Jonathan's confirmation. While some arguments supporting this feature are well-justified, there's also notable pushback from people who oppose it. As a long-time player since version 2.0, I aim to present a balanced compilation of perspectives on this topic while addressing and countering some common arguments.
To clarify, I am firmly against the idea of ascendancy change being a core. However, in the context of Early Access, I understand its inclusion as a temporary measure. While I don't claim to represent the majority opinion—nor am I a game developer with insights into the development process—I approach this discussion as a long time player with experience and a bit of experience reviewing game design.
Upsides and Drawbacks of Restricting Ascendancy Changes Drawbacks:
- Reduced Player Agency: Restricting ascendancy changes limits players' ability to experiment with and refine their characters' progression.
- Hindered Flexibility and Exploration: Players are less able to freely explore game mechanics and interactions without significant time investment.
- Build Change Penalties: Major build revisions or experimentation often necessitate an entirely new playthrough, discouraging changes.
- Enhanced Campaign Focus: GGG has consistently emphasized the importance of the campaign in PoE1. More than its predecessor, PoE2 places significant weight on the campaign, with a lot of promotional materials suggesting it could rival the endgame in significance, especially the early stages. The underlying philosophy seems to be that the campaign should feel like a complete game in itself, encouraging players to immerse themselves in its progression before transitioning to mapping.
- Longevity Through Restriction: Limiting experimentation can ironically benefit the game’s longevity. In Last Epoch, player freedom to experiment extensively during early seasons has often resulted in a rapid decline in replayability. In general, gamers tend to optimize the "fun" out of a game, quickly converging on a few meta strategies that dominate the experience. By controlling experimentation, GGG can extend the game's discovery phase, allowing development teams more time to adapt while maintaining player engagement. Some can argue, “If this is true, why has PoE1 survived so many leagues?” The answer lies in PoE1’s decade-long history. Each new skill in PoE1 is released into a vast ecosystem of 10 year worth of established mechanics and content, enabling hundreds of interactions from day one. By contrast, PoE2 starts with a blank slate, and it will take time to build a similar depth.
- Data Collection in Early Access: Restricting ascendancy changes allows GGG to gather more structured data on player choices and gameplay patterns, which is crucial for balancing and improving the game during Early Access.
- Potential Slot/Character Limitations: While the specifics of character slots or limitations in PoE2 are unconfirmed, any such restrictions could further incentivize having more character slots.
2. “I just follow build guides.” This overlaps with the point above. Build guides are created through extensive experimentation. Restricting flexibility stifles the ability of theorycrafters to develop diverse guides, ultimately limiting choices for players who depend on them.
3. “Ascendancy changes shouldn’t matter much—stick to your choice.” Based on the available information, ascendancies in PoE2 appear to have a -arguably- more substantial impact on gameplay compared to PoE1 with the skills they have.
4. “The campaign is only 8–10 hours if you’re efficient.” According to Statista, the median gaming time for non-streamers or individuals with jobs and families ranges from 5–14 hours per week. In fact, only 15% of gamers are exceeding 15 hours. For many players, replaying the campaign to try a new build could mean devoting an entire week—or more—to repetitive content.
5. “Restricting ascendancy changes is thematic and fits PoE’s identity.” PoE is known for its depth and complexity, but also for the tools it provides to explore its systems with a lot of flexibility and rooms for experiment.
6. "I/My friends don't care about/ do ascendancy changes." I/My friends do care about / do ascendancy changes. This applies for all anecdotal arguments.
7. "Last Epoch does this, it's fine" I can test every single interaction in Last Epoch as if I was in dev mode with the offline version even before I think about creating a character. All other arguments above applies to Last Epoch as well.
While I understand the rationale behind limiting ascendancy changes—especially during Early Access—I firmly believe that such restrictions should not become a permanent feature. I welcome others to adding or to refute all of my points in the comment if I miss or to point out any logical and factual errors I have made. I only made this post to discuss this point specifically since I think it is a big part of the gameplay.

Hello!
I plan on applying to a MFA program next year and wonder if anyone here could share some tips with me. What did you do after completing the program? Was it worth it for you? Did it help you grow as an artist?
I’m in my late 20s and apparently that's considered "too old" for a masters program. I had assumed arts are a bit more lenient on that aspect than other fields, but someone recently mentioned that I'll probably be among the oldest applicants and as such, have less chances of getting accepted.
I plan to apply to several art schools in the UK and for my portfolio, I want to include personal pieces I have done in the last 2-3 years, some examples of life drawing, scans from sketchbooks, and an art installation. Would this be enough? And would it be appropriate to include some of my digital art pieces (i.e. 3D work done in Maya, Blender, Unreal Engine)?

I was put on a PIP and after two weeks in, I messed up again and knew I was going to get fired at the end of it. After that, I went on FMLA and applied for short term disability.
Ive been so distraught/anxiety ridden from this FMLA route I took rather than finding another job, being fired or just quitting. I wanted to keep my current companies benefits (which are amazing) to get the help I need and return once Im okay and have a new job lined up. To be clear, I am dealing with personal stuff as well but, this PIP issue has only made my mental health worse.
I am young in my career and have an entry title position. Since Ive been here, this company has had a bunch of layoffs due to budgeting, being overworked and understaffed. My position is even a dual role to a team of 3.5 and then to a team 1.5. (me being the .5) My old boss from the 1.5 team, quit due to the stress they were under and said they needed more of team but, we didn’t have one.
I know my move was smart but, as I mentioned, Im distraught as Im so worried about how I am being perceived by the company now. In addition, questioning myself on how am I going move forward with my career if my relationships are tainted due to the stigma of mental health. I know, for a fact, I’m already being shit talked as I heard stuff prior to my last day. In addition, Im embarrassed of the mistakes I made during my PIP and have no chance to redeem myself now.
How do I come back from this? What your best advice for someone in my position?
