2024.11.27 20:49 badatbeingfunny I finished my first playthrough around a week ago and I'm already knee deep in my second one
I won't spoil anything about the ending or stuff like that but holy cow is this games packed with stuff to do. My first run I was a netrunner with smart weapons and did most of my damage with quickhacks, switching to my guns when I ran out of ram or when it made more sense, and now I'm doing a sandivistan tech gunslinger playthrough and not only is there so much replay value in just the character build/playstyle side of things, but I'm also seeing and doing things I had no idea about on my first run, either because I'm paying more attention, because I missed a bunch of side gigs cause of how many there, or choosing different dialogue options
This honestly might be one of my favorite games of all time at this point, I know that the sheer number of gameplay hours isn't what defines how good a game is but I literally bought it over a year ago and I still feel like I've barely scratched the surface, and no matter how far I dig into this mountain of a game, the gameplay still remains just as fun if not more so.
Just felt like I'd make an appreciation post for the game because I truly believe it would have gone down in history as one of the greatest games of all time if it released in its current state.

Hey y'all. So basically I've been trying to manifest stuff and heal and have been coming across this pattern of resistance - negative/opposite results when I try to use affirmations to heal myself. Almost like my subconscious is trying to prove me wrong.
Now I started manifestation with the world of Youtube subliminals, and people seem to have this idea that the subconscious mind is this big scary hidden underworld inside of ourselves, we can't access it, and it's out here filled with limiting beliefs, manifesting based on the beliefs it formed from our life experiences. Basically as if it's in control, and if we program it the right way, we can manifest exactly what we want. Hence, the use of subliminals. It all feels very external locus of control - as if we're giving power to something outside of ourselves (though we tell ourselves the subconscious is inside, the way people talk about it feels like it's an external being).
But I realized what if the subconscious doesn't even exist in that sense? Scientifically, physically, as far as I've researched, the idea of a "subconscious" is true - your heartbeat, digestion, homeostasis (regular mundane maintenance of your body temperature, etc.) is taken care of "subconsciously". As in you are not thinking about exactly how many times to make your heart beat, you are not consciously controlling how and when your heart beats. It's taken care of automatically, subconsciously.
So I'm wondering if anyone knows what the subconscious is ACTUALLY. Because I think this whole idea that it is this big thing in the background that you can't really do anything about, just feed it stuff, but at the same time it's like a puppet master of your manifestations in that it gives you resistance based on its old beliefs - I do not like that idea (I don't really need to hear about how the idea of resistance is fake. That may be, but I want to hear about the idea of the "subconscious mind" as a whole).

What's with chuba being ranked rb ~17 in weekly rankings again? Made sense last week against the chiefs but tb is the 27th ranked defense against rbs. He's been rb 7, 2, and 11 the last 3 weeks and is rb 11 on the year (.5ppr).
The only reason has to be jonathan brooks. I understand docking him in dynasty but there's no world that brooks just gets 15 carries next week out of nowhere including at the goal-line who are they kidding. Seems like a loyalty to old takes situation

 | I have my table and am loving it but was considering putting a neoprene mat on my Christmas wishlist. I was looking at the website and the colors look pretty bright. "Burgundy" looks more like a standard red and "Forest Green" just looks green. Playing as the final Ode to Castlevania character and limited to one weapon. You can see that it leveled up 40 times… and then stopped? I didn’t think Limit Break had a limit, but here we are.
What’s even weirder is that after this, I got another weapon via the candybox and evolved that, and that one went past level 60 with no issues. Is this just a cap for the Infinite Corridor?

If you guys have been seeing my post you will know I have been trying to understand what this story is actually saying. A friend of mine once taught me that to understand a story all you have to look at is the central idea expressed in a term that an author keeps alluding to. For the manga bleach it's "death". For jujitsu kaisen it's "curses" and it just hit me that the central term of this story is in the fucking title and epigraph of it's first chapter, the soul.
The Consult want to save the obscenities that is their souls while most of the ignorance of man comes from a lack of understanding of their own souls. Kelhus manipulates people so easily because he is an understanding of that more than any other.
And I have just been mentally face palming myself because like I said it's in the freaking title. It's called the "prince of darkness" because most of our behaviour comes from our own soul which we do not even know so the soul is analogous to the dark.
Although I'm happy I realized this because I can reread the story with new eyes and keep an eye out for anytime that term is used
