Preparing the field with my non-gamer GF and even if I explain to her what is happening she still thinks i'm not sane and that i'm a nerd but still, I'm planning a sequential delivery of gifts from this week to the next one so I feed her with atention and stuff.
What are your methods to handle this type of events? Need more ideas, maybe is not enough.

The best and most wonderful man in the entire history of the world is dead. I love him so so much and I hope he could feel what I was telling him as he went. I hope he knew it was okay to go, and that we’ll be alright. I wish we could have kept him forever, but that’s life right? I am so so very sad. I’ll miss him and love him forever.
He was 87, going to be 88 next week, so not like we hadn't thought about this, but my grandma has been ill and has dementia and my grandpa right up until the end was just his usual lively self, so it all feels wrong. He had a very sudden aortic rupture. I woke up from a nap to a call from my brother telling me I needed to get in my car because he was in hospital and the doctors had told my mum to get the family there asap. I drove there sobbing the whole twenty minutes, on my own. I was shaking when I was parking, I don't know how I didn't crash to be honest.
When I got there, my brothers and grandmother had gotten there the same time, and we walked into A+E, my mum came and she said she couldn't bring us all in. She'd been there with him on her own bless him, hearing the worst news on her own. She said she could only bring my grandma in, but then she looked at me and said 'you too'. I am so so so so grateful for that.
He was on a lot of morphine, the consultant had told my mum he would die tonight. He looked up and saw my grandma, and smiled, and then he saw me and he smiled again. I took his hand; he was cold and pale, but he did squeeze my hand, just faintly. He asked what time it was, and I told him. They sorted a private room for us. By the time my brothers could join us, they took the IV out and just left us to be with him. It was only fifty minutes past when he'd asked me the time and then he was gone.
I hope he could feel it, how much we loved him. He'd have been fed up with the fuss and the crying we were doing. The way he went was so him. Quick, and hopefully painless with all that morphine. He kept being able to do everything he loved right up to when he died. He'd just bought a new car a few months ago, bless him. He wouldn't have wanted a long illness, or to lose who he was and what he could do. I know we are so lucky because of that. But god it's so hard to think he's never going to be here again. There's so much I wish I'd asked him, and told him.
I'm not sure why I'm posting this, it's all very personal and maybe I'll delete it, but everyone around me at the moment is also going through this and I'm trying not to be too useless around them. I've never had to grieve anyone before and he's the most important person to me so this is just brutal.
Death seems less scary with him waiting on the other side. I hope he’s there when I go. Whatever is after death must be lovely, because he’s there. I can’t believe he’s the first person I have to grieve. Grandpa I promise you I am going to spend my life trying to be half the person you were. You were just the best and most lovely man, so good and so funny and warm and you never complained or were arrogant or offensive, just always wonderful and warm and tough as old boots. Gold standard of man. Your life meant so much and your death feels so enormous. Love you forever. Thank you for everything.

My 4 year old cousin said to me his best friend is called Jalcolm. I nodded along thinking he misheard so when I asked my cousins mum she confirmed the friend is Jalcolm. Apparently the mum thought Malcolm was too common so wanted to change it up.

Im all for their rights but I think they should’ve delivered all packages FIRST not letting important things be stuck. I’m a victim of this as many Canadians. I’m rural, can’t even get an Amazon parcel delivered to my location. I’m an hour away from big centres. Just curious as to if they would be mandated? Question for Australian members.
Is there an Australian standard for finished floor levels when it comes to post tension slabs? How do you combat head contractor trying to pass blame on to the concreter for discrepancies in slab heights after post tensioning?
This seems to be a constant losing battle for us. Where we being told we must follow the 3 in 3 method, though I believe this doesn’t apply to decks.
Any information on how you have handled similar situations would be much appreciated.
