2024.11.28 01:21 MissingNo117 So I bought a brand new Xbox controller...... (playing on PC Steam version)
Guess who has no more aim drift 🙋.
First off, just to be clear I did not buy a new controller because of S2's aim drift lol, I bought a new controller because they happened to be on sale, and my current controller is so old the joysticks are almost gone.
I tried everything. Fixes I saw online, messing with Steam controller configs, nothing worked. My guess is that my old controller did actually have a drift issue (it was like 5 years old) but because the game has no Dead zone settings, it wasn't able to negate the drift effects of my controllers stick drift. It also was an Xbox One model controller, whereas my new one is the Series X model controller.
Just fyi, I have not had this problem in any other game, nor have I ever had to touch the dead zone settings to fix stick drift in any other games that I have played up until this point. I have even played new games recently like BO6 and Dragon Age: Veilguard, and never had any stick drift issues.
So in conclusion, if youre Xbox controller (I'm not sure about the PS controller) is as old as the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, and you have the drift issue on PC and your 3rd party dead zone settings aren't fixing the issue, it's probably time for a new controller.
