I’m about to graduate with a 3.0 GPA and am preparing to apply to graduate school. But I’m feeling scared of rejection and failure. In a few weeks or months, I’ll have to leave the country where I’ve been studying for the past four years because my study permit is expiring. I’ll then have to wait to see if I get accepted into grad school for September, and, in the meantime I’ll be back home with my parents, taking local college classes to improve my grades. If I don't get in, I'll probably try to get a healthcare related job and study on the side.
I’m 22, and I hate that I’m relying on my parents to get back on track. I just want to boost my science grades and become a stronger candidate for my future. Over the past four years, I have been dealing with health problems and struggling with low self-esteem. This is why my GPA ended up on the lower side. Honestly, I’ve never really taken my education seriously, even though my parents have paid a lot for my tuition. I’m scared of disappointing them, and myself, and I’m still trying to figure things out.
I have a lot of research experience, but I worry it might not be enough. So, I’m preparing for the worst and focusing on improving my GPA. I often feel like my friends and peers have everything figured out, and I’m the only one who feels like I need to take a step back. I know it’s probably smarter to work on improving my GPA rather than staying in research assistant positions just to keep my ego intact.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation? How do you keep your spirits up when you’re working to improve after a rough academic experience? I really want to do better, but part of me is scared of success. Sometimes, failing feels like the only way I can maintain control. The idea of doing well is still uncomfortable. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to move forward?

Hi all, I am having a hard time deciding between the two jackets - I tend to run pretty cold so warmth is important. I know that the MT500 has more fill at a higher value but it doesn’t feel quite as toasty and I don’t know if it is because the fabric is not as thick.
Anyways would love to hear people’s thoughts on the two!

The title says everything. Over half way to a year. Before everything that's happened to me this year I was very depressed, miserable and wanted to drink myself to death. The problem is, I almost did. But I got a new liver and a second chance at life. I just wish that it didn't take almost dieing to realize that I wanted to live.
