They are having a new sign up bonus of an additional 50$ for the 200$. When you spend 500$ within the first 3 months. I’m already pre-approved from what I can tell from the emails and app notifications that I have been getting recently since it’s my anniversary with my chase credit card. Basically, what the title says, I want to give NYC a try.
Here’s a bit of context: I worked as a Software Developer for about 1.5 years, and my role was pretty diverse, it involved Batch Programming (Java/C++), SQL queries, Bash scripting, UNIX commands, and a lot of customer support.
I’ve been applying for Software DevelopeEngineer positions across the US but haven’t had luck so far. Honestly, I’m at the point where I’m open to a change and considering moving to New York City to start from zero. I’ve always wanted to live in a big city (I'm from a small town) with plenty of things to do, opportunities to attend tech events, and chances to connect with others in the industry, and potential for career growth.
Has anyone had a similar experience moving from a developer background into roles like IT Support, Help Desk, Support Specialist, or other office/corporate jobs? I feel these might be easier for me to get into given my skill set, and I genuinely enjoy working in a white collar environment.
I know I’ll get lots of comments about the HCOL, but luckily, I have a relative who can support me. For those who’ve started their IT careers here from scratch, I’d really appreciate any advice you can share.

2024.11.28 03:42 xikixikibumbum Random offspring appearing in the family tree out of nowhere. Happened in two different generations of the same family. “Children” they never had but if i meet them I have family interactions available.
Basically I don’t know if it’s caused by a mod or what. But it’s so weird, i mean I’m playing my legacy game and when I enter to the tree a random toddler appears. I summoned him with MCCC and he just appeared like he cannot walk even! And my couple was never pregnant or anything, the kid looks nothing like them, have the mother’s surname but she was never pregnant and I play with her since she was a teen.
Does anybody know what’s going on?? It already happened to me before, 2 generations before and I just kinda went with it, it was super weird because - where do they live? Who is raising them?? but I befriended them and now they are half sisters of my sims and hang out. But I don’t want to do it again.
Does this sound relatable at all, and if it happened to you, do you have any ideas why?? Thanks it’s driving me crazy lol

2015 VW Beetle, 1.8L (non turbo), 70k mi My car has never had issues. Recently went to start up car noticed temp warning light came on flashing to check coolant after about 5 seconds. Was nearly bone dry!!! I refilled after a few hours (actually slightly overfilled by maybe a centimeter or so) and went on with my day. Coolant temp perfect at 194°. Drove perfectly.
This was last weekend!!! I drove home today and randomly was checking my coolant temp (looking at my mpg) and was still 194°. Got home, went to leave my house again, and within moments of turning car on was beeping ab coolant and flashing. Was as empty as it was last time. What is wrong with it??? Car drives perfect, coolant showed good temp. I want to fix this myself hopefully. I have some car knowledge but still learning. Tysm in advance🙏😭
Also, NO leaks seen in my driveway. No coolant smell. I see nothing in my engine. Oil change very recent, have been thinking ab doing spark plugs. Everything in car besides battery is original to 2015, that's why I excused the dry coolant the first time.
