2024.11.28 05:47 Individual_Holiday_9 Strep diagnosis - if my fever remains at I still contagious once taking meds?
Went to doc Tuesday and was diagnosed with strep after a rapid test. I was prescribed antibiotics (penicillin I take twice a day), and as of tonight have taken two full days’ worth. I’ve had a fever as high as 102 as recently as this afternoon.
Doctor said once I’ve taken 24 hours of penicillin I shouldn’t be contagious anymore. I’ve now completed 48 hours worth (4 doses)
Is that still correct if I have a fever?
I always thought fever = contagious, and you had to wait 24 hours from fever breaking to not be considered contagious.
We have our 1 year old as well as older parents living with us so I’ve been isolating in my room since Monday. Tomorrow being Thanksgiving I’d really like to leave my room and see my baby but can’t risk getting anyone sick (wife travelling for work next week; parents older, baby is a baby). Am I stuck?

Hi, my son is a T1 and was diagnosed one year ago. He’s been keeping his sugar very high and we struggle to get him to take his insulin. His endo said that’s harmful and could be suicidal tendencies. His pediatrician disagreed and referred us to a new endo. The new endo fixed his dosing and that helped tremendously for a while. But now he’s back to being over 400 again.
He’s a senior in high school and barely passing. I’m concerned about him missing more school, but his health is 100% more important. Any advice? Has anyone here been baker acted?

i love and hate eating food. recently just quit my diet. ive tried many times losing weight. but it always ended me into getting fat again and being depressed for a few weeks. whenever a quit losing weight i just cry alot because i let everyone down. they see me skinny and compliment me but then it ends up just being a shitshow where i turn to a total failure and its akward cuz i know everyone knows that im fat again, but its too awkward mentioning it. to this day i still remember those days and cry sometimes.
compared to everytime ive quit weight loss, this time it hurt me a ton. i was crying alot and considered suicide at some point, but it useally just had me tired of crying and then sleepin.
the thing is that i look ugly when im fat, like way uglier then other fat people, my fat always redirects to my torso and i have these ugly arms with the same diameter of a pencil and my fat bean-bag torso. i hate it all, and i might aswell be super bone skinny then being like that.
At this point, i might be asking for a eating disorder, maybe im too young to understand that, or just straight up brain-dead, i guess ive been second guessing myself to the point where ive gone numb on what is gonna kill me or whatever. atleast i didnt kill myself over being fat lol.

19M here, two years ago i graduated high school with an excellent score ,got into a high university.
First i lost my academic glory, i became afraid of understanding stuff , slow and unconfident.
I also developed my self-hatred , all of my friends that used to think my future is garanteed are achieving things while m sitting here depending on my parents and failing school.
At first i didn't believe in panic attacks, but now i get them often on my way home from college , just thinking about the idea of dropping out and becoming a bum, since i have no social life , school is my only way to get a decent job.
My main goal in life is to retire my parents and take care of my youngner siblings, specially my 2 yo sister, whenever i hold her i always tell her i will buy her whatever she wants.
When i see that i'm failing them/myself , i just tend to self-destruct.
Please give me some tips, how did this happen?Feeling lost.
