2024.11.28 03:50 saintstheftauto Y’know, it seems like there’s barely any Metal bands out there putting out memorable merch designs these days.
From the late 2000s to the mid-2010s, bands like The Black Dahlia Murder, Suicide Silence, and Bring Me the Horizon put out a countless amount of t-shirts with a lot of different art designs that looked really cool, and I think that’s part of the reason why those 3 bands were so successful back then. Most of these shirts were sold at places like Hot Topic and Spencer’s.
Nowadays, whenever I see band t-shirts with art designs, nothing really sticks out to me to the point where I have a reaction like, “wow, that looks so cool!” and makes me wanna get it. I’m not saying those band t-shirts with these art designs look bad or anything, I’m just saying that nothing really stands out that could potentially contribute to a band’s success and increase the amount of followers they have. Like, if there are bands out there that are selling these kinds of shirts, then they’re not selling anywhere near as well as those shirts sold by bands like TBDM, SS, and/or BMTH.
Am I the only one who feels these way or do any of you guys feel these way as well?

I talked to this girl for 3 months, she wanted to talk online for a month before meeting in person. She was very shy in person and was difficult to hold a conversation with. Eventually she seemed to get more comfortable and we went on a total of 3 dates and spent the night at her apartment twice. We never had sex or even kissed on the lips. I had asked if it was alright to give her a kiss after the second date but she was only willing to do the cheek. We were on the same page about starting a serious relationship since the first day so I’m confused on why she didn’t want to kiss after 3 months. The most intimate she wanted to do was cuddle.
I’ve noticed a lot of mixed signals during the time we’ve been together. When we talked on the phone, when I asked her how her day was all I got was a “good” and when I asked what she did at work all I got was a “not much”. She was also inconsistent with texting and only wanted to meet when it was convenient for her. I sent a good morning text twice and this was never acknowledged, I would make dinner date plans and when I paid she never gave me a simple “thank you for dinner”. I guess I felt like I wasn’t valued or a priority to her in terms of putting effort into the relationship.
The first time I spent the night at her apartment I really enjoyed our time together and I thought she did too. However the second time felt different, she seemed more distant and it felt more like hanging out with a friend than anything. We haven’t talked much this week and last night I reached asking if we could talk about something. I wanted to ask if everything is alright with why she has seemed more distant and hesitant. I haven’t received a response and I’m assuming we’ll likely not speak again. I would guess she found someone else she had a better connection with. I don’t have an issue with this but after 3 months I thought I would at least deserve her telling me she was no longer interested rather than ghosting me.
I know from the first date it probably wouldn’t work between us and I think both of us were keeping each other around until someone better came along with a stronger connection. However had I found someone I connected with better I would’ve let her know so I’m wondering why people don’t have the decency or respect to tell someone what’s going on after a few months of talking? I was kind and respectful of boundaries to her, I would even spend 2 hours at a time on the phone with her so I would’ve hoped she was mature enough to let me know when she decided to move on.
