I am employed by my brother in law. A few weeks ago my sister and I had a disagreement and we are both upset but I feel ultimately I was treated unfairly by her and am owed an apology. This morning I was the first to arrive at the office. My brother in law was the second to arrive at which point I was told in a condescending manner 'Ive had your sister in tears all morning' when I enquired why this was his response was 'I think you know why, you need to speak to her'. This upset me as I felt attacked, his tone was aggressive. He then left the room and didn't return for some time. When my colleagues arrived I was visably distressed and told them what had happened and how I hadn't said anything about being upset for weeks through fear of this affecting my work life. When my brother in law returned he must have sensed the shift in mood within the room as he promptly made an excuse to leave in a fit of anger. After sitting with my feelings all morning I messaged him to say I thought he put me in a really unfair position bringing up a family matter at the work place as at that point he is my boss and there is an unfair power dynamic at play. I also shouldn't have to worry about family matters affecting my work life which had just happened in my opinion. I received no response until 10pm tonight where he said he found my message unnecessary and claimed he hadn't done anything wrong but if I wanted to discuss it further with him I could. I responded to say if he thinks there is nothing wrong with how I was treated and me expressing my feelings is unnecessary I have nothing more to say to him. AIO to feeling like my feelings have been invalidated, I have been humiliated at work and planning to find a new job immediately?

2024.11.28 03:40 JH2466 [BUG] Struggling to use ximgproc in Android Studio
I'll try to keep this concise. As a disclaimer I'm not super well versed in Android Studio and I'm learning a lot on the fly so apologies if I mess up some concepts.
I'm working on a school project in Android Studio which involves structured edge detection from openCV's ximgproc library. The package I'm using to access openCV is quickbird studios (I'm repurposing one of my class's lab files which had openCV infrastructure already set up, this is the package they used), which is declared in this line in the dependencies of the gradle:
implementation 'com.quickbirdstudios:opencv-contrib:3.4.5'implementation 'com.quickbirdstudios:opencv-contrib:3.4.5'implementation 'com.quickbirdstudios:opencv-contrib:3.4.5'implementation 'com.quickbirdstudios:opencv-contrib:3.4.5' To try and figure out what's going on, I checked out the quickbirdstudios .jar file to make sure ximgproc is present, and yes, the all the ximgproc function java wrappers were there. There could be some weirdness with locating the actual native code in the .so files (the dependencies also pointed to a folder called 'libs', but I couldn't find it either in the app project or in the global gradle cache where the java wrappers were. I'll include that line as well:

long story short I am very used to sending my transcripts through National Student Clearinghouse so I thought that would be sufficient, but I’m starting to think the grad programs didn’t receive them. both programs I am applying to (UHart and Rutgers PsyD) say to have transcripts sent electronically to a specific email or by mail, but I noticed a few weeks ago when I tried to send in transcripts through Clearinghouse, it did not allow me to enter an email or mailing address (only the “grad admissions” was seen on the drop down box so I clicked that) so I’m thinking I can’t sent it like that for some reason. so I wanted to call my registrar’s office from both institutions I have attended to get them electronically sent manually.
However, I won’t be able to contact my undergrad institution OR master’s institution until December 2nd due to the long weekend closure for thanksgiving (yay). the applications are due December 1st. I am seriously freaking out right now. what do I do???? I am extremely nervous right now does anyone have any experience with this

hi all and happy thanksgiving!!! i’ve been going back and forth about whether or not to get a steam deck, as i already have a PC, switch and ps4 and don’t want to make my overconsumption worse. i have, however, heard nothing but raving reviews from people that i know that have it; and the thought of being able to lay in bed and play PC games is incredibly attractive 😂
steam is doing a black friday deal where it looks like some of these models are on sale thru 12/4. the model i was looking at is the one that’s $336.75 and 512gb. i scrolled down to look at more options and see the one listed for $399 and 256gb. all of the specs listed for both of them match up as the exact same.
my question is whether or not anyone knows if there’s a significant difference between the two? because it seems like the one with 256gb is MORE expensive than the one with 512gb of storage, despite them having the literal exact specs.
for reference, the games i’m mainly looking to play range anywhere from BG3 to FFXIV to stardew valley to potion permit etc etc

Late Dx AuDHD. I've learned a bunch about myself and my flavor AuDHD since my diagnosis 2 years ago. I'm coming to understand how it effects my behaviors and perspectives and that helps self regulation and I think it really improves my patience and interactions with others.

So, my spouse is an RN. She worked (is still internal for now) a public health position, fulfilling all the different roles/areas that they have. Shes Quite versatile! We had our 3rd and final baby to which in the middle of her mat leave we had moved to rural central AB. (From a northern isolated town, to Leduc) we absolutely love it in leduc, it's beautiful and the people are Great. But my God she's having the hardest time finding work. And because of having children she can't exactly take a 12 hour hospital job because I'm commuting up north for work.
My heart is breaking foe her. She's smart, a hard worker and she cares a lot about her career and the people she sees. But out of the countless, continuous job applications she's only received 1 interview ( and they got back and said it was between her and someone else for the position and they had no choice but to give it to the other person due to seniority)
How the hell are the younger nurse workforce supposed to get any better experience or even a job for that matter when it comes down to seniority getting the job no matter what. Even though someone else may have been a more compatible fit.
It sucks to see someone I love feel so defeated, and stressed and unwanted in a career she's passionate about and good at! It's getting to the point where she too may have to commute up north on my days off for casual just to keep hours up....thats going to be hard on our fam jam.
If anyone, has an in. Any in for an RN job that would like a passionate, caring and hard working nurse please forward it my way so I can share it with her. She's willing to travel an hour from our home for any position that allows her to get the kids before daycare ends.
