2024.11.28 04:51 don-corle1 Frustrating experience with faulty NBN. Anything more I can do?
I have an HFC NBN connection at my place, which worked fine until about 10 days ago when it just stopped, had a blinking upstream light on the modem. Tried all the normal troubleshooting things and contacted my ISP (Superloop). Their support was pretty good and they ended up lodging a fault with NBN and scheduling an appointment for a tech to attend. That was for Monday.
That morning, Superloop phoned me saying it was cancelled. I was a bit annoyed but ok, shit happens. The next appointment available was today. I get a text from the NBN guy saying that they're on their way and to lock up my pets etc. Great, he's actually coming this time.
2 hours pass by and then I get another call from Superloop saying he had cancelled again and the next one is on Monday. I get irate because I WFH and this is becoming a pretty big problem, not to mention I'm still paying for internet which I am not receiving. Superloop rep basically says there's nothing they can do since it's an NBN fault and all they can do is facilitate the NBN appointments.
I use the NBN contact form to explain the situation, and I get a response basically saying to take it up with my ISP because they act as the NBN agents, so they're basically just passing the buck between each other.
Is there anything more I can do here? I've been tethering my phone but it looks like I'll have to go get another Sim to do my work on 5g. I'd order Starlink right now and ditch NBN completely but it's currently sold out in SEQ.

This seems to always end up devolving into an argument in my family. My gf and I don't see the value in them (besides monetary gains). They're just pointless cash grabs that only disrespect animation as a medium and if we wanted to watch these stories again, we'd just watch the originals. The rest of my family just doesn't agree. They think I'm unfairly just writing off as slop and not giving them a chance. They see it as a way to bring these stories to new generations

My wife wants to mount the tv above the fire place. I told her it would be too high. I compromised by lowering the Mantel by cutting the bricks and putting the mantel about where the lowest one is. It’ll be a 55 inch tv. Still too high? Bottom of the tv will be around 45 inches and I’ll be 11 ft away watching.
