Hey all- I was sent this way by some folks on BaldursGate3. Hoping you might be able to offer some advice in choosing a system to be, pretty much, a "BG3 Machine". Here's the post:
My girlfriend got massively into Baldurs Gate 3 over the summer, and was running it on a MacBook that, if I understand correctly, should have never really been able to run it anyways. After an update in October, the game crashed and just will not run on her laptop anymore. I won't go into it, but it's clear that there's no fixing it. Even now, she's still really upset about it. It brought her a lot of joy, but we really haven't been able to afford to upgrade her laptop for a game.I'd actually originally wanted a gaming laptop for her, but was just so in over my head with specifications and system requirements that the PS5 just feels safer. But I'd love to hear any recommendations or thoughts- even if it's just confirming that $700 is just too small a price point for my needs!
With an unexpected bonus at work, and some expenses I ended up over-budgeting for, I realized this week that I have about $700 for Christmas when I'd only really expected to have, maybe, $100. I have no clue if this is enough, but I'd really, really love to get her a system that can... actually run her game. HOWEVER, I am completely and utterly useless when it comes to tech.
I guess my first question is, is $700 enough (at least during Black Friday)? And if so... what's a good option? She's really not a huge gamer, so I don't want to go overboard, but it would be a nightmare to get a new system only for it not to do the one thing I need it to. It looks to me like the PS5 is the cheapest option, but maybe you guys have other recommendations. I don't care about anything beyond it being able to run Baldur's Gate, to be honest lol- most of her other gaming interests are easy played on her MacBook or Switch.

We’ve been together almost a year and it’s the best relationship I’ve had, I was so happy with him, and I seriously wanted this man for life, yesterday he left his phone open and I saw a chat with “silenced notifications” grabbed his phone and discovered he deleted messages with a girl, I questioned him about it and he said his coworker told him she likes him and he deleted it, which makes no sense because he silenced the chat. And read that he was responding to her stories (nothing sexual but still why he had it silenced )
Went through his phone and also discovered that he met with his ex behind my back in the begging of the relationship.
He posted pictures with me in all his social media, took me to meet up with his family multiple times, introduced me to his friends co workers and would always talk about marriage and children. He was always putting pressure on me to meet my dad and grandma, (they didn’t want to because of the age gap), they finally accepted to meet him just yesterday hours later I discovered his lies.
I am really hurt and I feel so betrayed , I broke up with him. Do you think I did the right thing and could you share thoughts about this situation?

Hello! I have some experience in audio production and wanted to offer music editing for commission, but i’m not sure how to navigate the legality of it (or at least to assess the risk). If anyone on here is particularly knowledgeable about music business i’d love some advice!
I know music editing for small events can fall under fair-use, but would that still apply if I’m profiting from it? Would purchasing the song through a platform like itunes/apple music be enough, or would I still technically be required to get a licensing agreement? This would likely only be for skaters at competitions that won’t be televised, but I am still not trying to get myself sued if someone somehow takes issue with me distributing edited versions of their music for a (very small) profit. I know the rules in the USA now cover songs owned by BMI or ASCAP so those are all safe, but I’m not sure where things like YouTube videos or classical pieces in public domain come into play as far as licensing. I’d super appreciate it if anyone has any advice as far as that goes! Thank you!

This popped up on my facebook feed, craziest backhand advice video I've ever seen. I really don't know what to make of this technique. Try it out or stay the hell away? On high backhands I jump into the ball, I often hit the ball on the rise just to avoid high backhands.
