2024.11.28 05:47 Hospital_Horse Question re: Louis (Spoiler for S 2 Ep 8)
I’ve seen others mention concern that next episode might have Louis unalive himself. There are very few things that would make me do a 180 on this show— I think it’s brilliant and wonderful— but the note of anguish this ended on came close, and I worry for Louis’ future.
The show executes every redemption arc so artfully, so I’m hoping it doesn’t resort to the sort of casual bleakness that permeates TV. Jimmy’s callous treatment of someone so clearly in despair seemed counter to the behavior of any therapist, even one who’s gone rogue. His wobbly but decent moral compass is shaped by guidance from/ obligation to his loved ones, so it didn’t make sense to see him be such a monster to a person his daughter and best friend have embraced. We’ve seen Jimmy be a petulant baby and a selfish idiot, but this episode demonstrated that he’s capable of acute emotional violence, and that makes it tough to root for him going forward. If he’s so rattled by the realization that he’s been a shitty dad, wouldn’t he be able to see his cruelty toward Louis as another act of (at least) bad parenting, or (at worst) dehumanizing dismissal/ negligence? Bleeeeergh.
tl;dr— anyone have intel re: Louis’ mortality in future episodes? My love of this show couldn’t withstand the gut-punch of such a devastating, senseless loss.

I think rushed players loose a lot of the benefit of upgrading like higher levels and loose a max level eagle, which would be one of their strongest defenses. To me it seems like it wouldn’t be worth it for heavily rushed players to upgrade? I’m curious what other people think about this.
