(A friend's story who is in desperate need of advice)
Salam everyone
I've been happily married for a few years now and pregnant with our first child. Alhamulilah my marriage has been such a blessing in my life and I've only improved and gotten better both as a muslim and as a spouse. I have one major dilemma and I need advice. During my husband and I's talking stage I was still in contact with my ex for the first few months. I know, it's very stupid and selfish of me.
My ex was serious about me and our families were involved but due to his circumstances, our engagement was delayed and we never officially took that step. I began to seriously worry that we would not get married but i was too attached to him to let go at the time and he was also making it impossible to let go. every time i tried to leave him he wouldn't let go.
at the time, my husband came forward as a potential. he was perfect in every way and i was advised by practically everybody around me to give this a shot and see what else is out there instead of being fixated on my ex. unfortunately i fell into that trap and began speaking to my husband before i broke things off with my ex. in hindsight i shouldnt have done that, but that is what happened and i made that mistake. over 2 months i got to know my husband and i fell deeply in love with him. he had his expectations (rightfully so) and i told him that i have spoken to others before without sharing more details as I followed the advice i was given.
our marriage has been nothing short of perfect and i have done everything in my power to compensate for the first two months but the guilt is eating me up. i did tell my ex at the time that i was seriously considering others for marriage but in the beginning stages of our relationship my husband did not know that i was still entertaining my ex. obviously, i finally broke things off and never looked back ever since and continued getting to know my now husband. We got engaged then married that same year so things moved quickly.
alhamdulilah i never got physical with my ex or commited zina in my life but without sharing too many details it wasnt a completely clean or pure relationship. my marriage is happy and smooth and im worried that admitting all of this now will only ruin what we built and break my husband. He doesnt deserve that and i wish my mind wasnt so poisoned with toxic and selfish thoughts at the time. I dont want to break my home but at the same time my heart aches every time i remember what i did. My husband advises every once in a while that I should hide information from him if its going to break us as i should conceal my sins but this is tearing me apart. i hate how I ruined the start of our relationship, even if we were just in the talking stage and i dont know what to do about it.
(Advice and new perspectives into the situation would be appreciated..... Please be kind as this sister is seriously going through a mental battle.)

پچھلے دنوں ایک شذرہ لکھا تھا جس میں تخلص کی بات کی تھی، اور اصل بحث یہ کی گئی تھی کہ اگر شاعر تخلص کو شعر میں بامعنی طریقے سے سموئے تو نہ صرف مزا دوبالا ہو جاتا ہے، بلکہ شعر کا سرقہ کرنا بھی مشکل ہو جاتا ہے۔
ابھی پڑھتے ہوئے جگر مراد آبادی کا یہ شعر نظر سے گزرا:
کیا چیز تھی، کیا چیز تھی ظالم کی نظر بھی
اُف کر کے وہیں بیٹھ گیا دردِ جگر بھی
ادھر دیکھیے کہ جگر نے نہ صرف اپنا تخلص استعمال کیا، بلکہ ایسے انداز میں شعر میں ٹانکا کہ معنی زبردست ہو گئے۔ دوہرے معانی آ گئے! اسے اصطلاح میں صنعتِ ایہام بھی کہتے ہیں! جو انگریزی میں آپ پن pun کے قریب سمجھ لیں۔
اس کے علاوہ ایک بھائی بحث کر رہے تھے کہ تخلص آخری شعر کے علاؤہ کہیں استعمال نہیں ہو سکتا۔ جبکہ ایسا نہیں ہے، بہت سے شعراء غزل کے درمیانی اشعار میں تخلص استعمال کر لیتے ہیں۔ یہ جو اوپر شعر رقم کیا ہے یہ بھی اصلا مطلع ہے جس میں جگر جیسے کہنہ مشق شاعر نے تخلص استعمال کیا ہے۔ ہاں، مقطع آخری شعر اس وقت ہی کہلاتا ہے جب اس میں تخلص استعمال ہوا ہو، وگرنہ وہ آخری شعر ہی کہلاتا ہے اصطلاح میں۔ مزید یہ کہ ایسی غزل کو غزل در غزل بھی کہتے ہیں جس کے درمیان میں تخلص استعمال ہو جائے! وگرنہ غزل در غزل ایک ہی زمین کی پر مزید غزل کہنے کو کہتے ہیں۔ تو اگر تخلص والے شعر کو مقطع گردانا جائے تو اس سے آگے والی الگ غزل تصور ہوگی اور یوں یہ غزل در غزل ہو جائے گی۔
