Dear Concern,
Upon receiving a formal complaint, we investigated the severe allegations outlined in the notice ‘BMSRI/1354/2024’ issued against Dr Murtaza Zakiul Abrar on 18 November 2024 by Bangladesh Medical Studies and Research Institute (BMSRI).
We conducted a thorough digital forensics analysis of Dr Abrar’s Facebook profile, posts, comments, messages, and relevant data logs, and concluded that the allegations are unfounded and lack credible evidence. The evidence presented by BMSRI appears to be selectively chosen, misinterpreted, or fabricated.
Given the nature of the allegations, we have prepared a report for all stakeholders, and sent a copy to the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) and to Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police for review.

Materials and Scope: BMSRI cites 13 pieces of evidence to accuse Dr M Zakiul Abrar of:

False, fabricated, and indecent remarks against the Governing Body Chairman of Bangladesh Medical College.
Unacceptable and vulgar conversations with a female student.
Attempts to seduce a female student with false promise of privileges once his father becomes GB Chairman.

We noted, that the series of disciplinary actions that preceded this BMSRI notice does not include any supporting evidence. To ensure the accuracy and comprehensiveness of our investigation, we extracted 2,200+ files directly from Meta with Dr M Zakiul Abrar’s permission, with particular focus on:

Posts and Comments: We analyzed all posts and comments made by Dr Abrar, including group posts and hidden content.
Private Messages: We examined his private messages to try and identify any inappropriate or harmful content, especially with students from his institution.
Group Chats: We scrutinized his participation in group chats, particularly ones involving students to assess behavior and interactions.
Media Shared: We reviewed all media, including photos, videos, and documents, that he shared on Facebook.

Analysis of Specific Allegations:

False, Fabricated, and Indecent Remarks Against BMC GB Chairman:
- BMSRI Findings: The screenshots provided by BMSRI seem to be taken out of context, selectively edited, or (in at least one instance) completely fabricated to misrepresent Dr Abrar’s intent.
- Our Findings: We found no evidence of any derogatory, indecent, or offensive language directed at the Chairman in Dr Abrar’s Facebook activity. His posts usually contain fact-checks, social commentary, and current affairs.
- Legal Analysis: Most of his recent posts were responses to specific provocations or informed opinions. Even if deemed offensive, such statements do not constitute grounds for disciplinary action, particularly in the context of academic freedom and freedom of speech.
Unacceptable and Vulgar Conversations with a Female Student:
- BMSRI Findings: Easily replicable screenshots that are often inconsistent with each other. Individual messages weren’t found in Dr Abrar’s inbox, archives, and secret messages.
- Our Findings: A thorough review of Dr Abrar’s messages revealed no instances of inappropriate or sexually suggestive conversations with students.
- Legal Analysis: The judiciary process demonstrated by BMSRI does not meet standards of investigating harassment. The burden of proof lies with the accuser, and in Dr Abrar’s case, the evidence provided is insufficient to meet this standard. Mere allegations are insufficient to justify disciplinary action.
Attempting to Seduce a Female Student With Promised Privileges:
- BMSRI Findings: Same as [2].
- Our Findings: Same as [2].
- Legal Analysis: This allegation is particularly serious and requires irrefutable evidence to be substantiated. However, no credible evidence has been presented to support it.

Points to Consider:

Contextual Understanding: It is important to consider the context of Dr Abrar’s posts and comments. His statements have been misconstrued as offensive but seem to be in response to specific provocations or to express frustration with the situation at BMC. This is hardly considered defamatory.
Academic Freedom: It is the fundamental right of faculty members to express views freely about their institution, even if controversial or unpopular.
Burden of Proof: The burden of proof lies with the accuser, and the evidence presented must be credible and sufficient to establish the allegations.
Presumption of Innocence: The accused is to be presumed innocent until proven guilty, a sentiment that seems absent from Dr Abrar’s judiciary process.
Dispute Resolution: Organisational conflict is common, but BMSRI does not seem to make any efforts at reconciliation in Dr Abrar’s case.
Selective Evidence: The BMSRI appears to have selectively chosen specific posts and comments to support their allegations, while ignoring the broader context and intent behind Dr Abrar’s statements.

Potential Malice: The deliberate misrepresentation of Dr Abrar’s statements, the lack of conflict resolution attempts, the overt disregard of due process, and the fabrication of evidence suggest a malicious intent to harm Dr Abrar’s reputation and career.

Conclusion: Based on our investigation, we conclude that the series of allegations and disciplinary actions that Dr M Zakiul Abrar is subjected to are unsubstantiated, politically motivated, and lack credible evidence. The evidence presented by BMSRI appears to be misleading and potentially fabricated.
We noticed a severe disregard for due process in the judiciary process surrounding this case, which is concerning considering the severity of the allegations. Matters like sexual harassment and institutional destabilization are complex and multifaceted, requiring irrefutable proof before a serious conviction can be established. The gross mishandling of these charges are indicative of malicious prosecution.
The targeting of Dr. Abrar has broader implications for academic freedom, institutional integrity, and the overall health of the education system. By silencing critical voices and suppressing dissent, the perpetrators have undermined the core principles of higher education. The erosion of academic autonomy and the politicization of educational institutions can have far-reaching consequences for society as a whole.

A bit like you would get on an insurance comparison website as an example, but it's one product with one price they can finalise and purchase.
I want customers to go through a form, select some pre-populated options and then receive a final price at the end. Example:

If they select YES to question 3, then +$50
End of the form shows $150 price
Order confirmation shows selected options

I'm not sure where to post this, but I need to get this off my chest because it is ruining my week.
As the title said, I am having reoccurring dreams about my ex who neglected, mistreated, and sexually pressured me during our relationship. It has been over a year since our breakup and throughout that time I have had nightmares about him but it's only recently I've had good dreams about him.
When I say good dreams, I mean him apologising for his actions, and him letting me meet his parents. I am in a new loving relationship, and I used to believe I have completely moved on but the dreams popping up more often is making me feel shaky. I feel horrible and unloyal, even though I know I'd never want to go back to my ex, the dreams make me feel sick to my stomach everytime I wake up. It's like I unconsciously want him to come back and beg for forgiveness :( like I want all the hurt that came from me to get validated and have closure.
Whenever I wake up from the dreams, it genuinely ruins my day and my self esteem plummets. If anyone has any advice or experiences like this they wanna share- it's appreciated :(

I am 26 and have just started realizing that nothing I know as normal should be normal. I grew up in a house where my dad would ignore us and my mom would lock rooms of the house, hide food and keep the thermostat in a lockbox. There was never trust in us but she always made it seem like it was our own fault despite us not ever actually doing things wrong. I was heavily sheltered and not even allowed to go outside on our own property until I was 19 bc I was a girl. I had two brothers very close in age and one even being my twin. When I got to high school my mom got a 2nd shift full time job and my dad was forced to retire bc of cancer. I was a teenager failing high school, expected to shut up about my depression, and having to take care of my father and two older brothers. If I wasn't doing those things I was thinking of harming myself or asleep. We constantly never had food in the house other than microwaveable shit or bread. I didn't have friends in high school bc I was bullied in middle school then constantly burnt out. When I graduated I took a year off bc I was convinced something bad would happen at home if I left. I got my first job at 19 and two weeks in my dad died unexpectedly. After that I was kind of pushed into dating one of my twins friends bc I had never had a relationship before. That man assaulted me then ignored me but I didn't know better and stayed with him probably desperate to get away from my mom. This happened with several boyfriends. Now I'm 26. I have no extended family who are close and know me. I have very few friends. I live with my abusive mother who killed my cat and wont give my father a headstone, my twin who drove all our friends away and sa'd people, and my alcoholic older cousin who constantly says and does horrible shit. I have no money, I can't get a job because of horrible agoraphobia from being isolated my entire life, and I have no idea how to leave. I spend every day in my room on the internet just hoping to die. I don't know what to do and can't even tell if I'm ever coherent anymore.
