I learned to drive on a 2008 BMW sedan and Honda Odyssey van. Love the BMW. Hate the Honda Odyssey. Looking for recommendations for a sedan with the following qualities:
1. Tight/stiff wheel (I like when I can easily feel how much I need to turn the wheel to straighten the car) - Strong engine breaking (I like taking my foot off the pedal and coasting to a stop, and I think this is what makes that happen?)
- Automatic transmission
- Hybrid/EV/environmentally-friendly
- Can withstand 1hr long daily commutes
Hopefully something under $30k if new. For used cars, I’m not sure what a reasonable price point would be, given that I have to account for maintenance. It’s quite tempting to buy a 10yo car for like $5000, but I doubt I can learn enough abt car maintenance/repair to make that a reasonable purchase. I’ve read that cars depreciate in value in the first three years, but I really just need something functional with minimal maintenance. So, any estimates on cost of maintenance for used EV/hybrid sedans would also be appreciated.
So far, I’ve looked at the Honda civic and accord as (I think) it’s supposed to be a good starter car, but im suspicious that it would not have the right wheel and engine braking feel that I want, given my experience w the Honda Odyssey.
So any recommendations/advice? Please help!!

In Germany we have the term "flinta". It's short for: Female Lesbian Inter Non-Binary Trans Agender. The term is used for previously "women only spaces", which try to be inclusive for more genders. I know mainly discussions from the trans community and a lot of trans people hate the term for various reasons.
How is the term perceived in the inter community? Do you know it? How do you feel about being added/invited to "women only spaces" or "trans spaces"?
Are there texts with an inter perspective, which critique flinta spaces or describe experiences of being there?
