The cards I was dealt with this year were not in my favor. Maybe it’s my karma lol.
This year started pretty bad with half my coworkers being laid off. I thought I was in the clear but in September I finally got the chop. Albeit, my company saw my value and is having me as support for other accounts, but I don’t have the security I had previously, meaning HR or the company could be like i’m not needed and fully lay me off.
Then my love life is a mess. The guy I thought was going to be my husband, my ex, told me I was the one, he said I checked off all the boxes and that his whole family loved me. Turns out he didn’t love me and broke up with me. Prior to that, my other ex broke up with me because he thought I was an alcoholic because i went out for my best friend’s engagement party and then out with coworkers the following day (his best friend has a dui charge). After I healed a bit, I started dating again and the went on two first dates. The guy I like doesn’t text me back, like maybe once a day, but love bombed me on the first date. Then the guy who really likes me, I don’t feel the same way.
I turn 27 tomorrow and I feel like my life isn’t how i pictured it. Last year, I woke up next to a boyfriend and logged onto work. This year my birthday is overshadowed by Thanksgiving and Black Friday. I feel like I should be able to look at the positives, i still have a job, at least i’m going on dates, my family loves me, but its like compared to last year, I was happier last year.

at first, i wasnt too hot on the design for the Grimmerie. but having seen the movie i actually dont hate it and it has grown on me.
i love that they've made it closer to its novel counterpart, kind of having a personality of its own, knowing what the user needs to see.

Hello, I’m posting in hopes of getting some input from people better versed in this subject than I am.
*please note- I’ve been given explicit permission to seek advice and opinions on this matter on behalf of my mother, but as this is a genetic issue that may also affect myself, I am also asking to gauge potential risks for my own future health
My mother has been struggling with many health issues and they’ve been getting worse. She was diagnosed with Mitochondrial Myopathy a year ago following a muscle biopsy. She has since had her genome sequenced.
Following a consultation with a geneticist, we’ve learned she has 33 gene deletions in her mtDNA. We think this is what has been causing most of her major issues.
The doctors (genetics, neuro, endocrine, etc) have mostly just been putting her on supplements and medications, but nothing seems to be working.
I have a few questions and ideas.
1) since mtDNA is often passed down maternally, what’s the chance that me and my siblings + their kids may have these same mutations? I don’t expect a specific % chance, but it would be nice to know a ballpark range.
2) since mom is suffering from genetic issues, is it possible that in the coming years CRISPR or other gene therapies could be used to repair her dna? Is this something worth talking to her doctors and specialists about? Or is it a distant possibility?
3) I’ve been reading on other forums and sites about people who have had some anecdotal success with other supplements, but I’m skeptical of both safety and efficacy. Is there anything she should try if the prescribed or recommended supplements dont help?
4) would lifestyle changes help improve symptoms? She finds it incredibly hard to breathe, walk, or lift anything. She struggles just picking up a 5lbs dog or walking from her bedroom to the kitchen. She has been doing physical therapy for the better part of a year, but only seems to be getting worse. To me it seems like her muscles are atrophying following use because her cells cannot meet the energy demands and so the cells may be dying.
5) would her digestive issues potentially be caused or worsened by mitochondrial myopathy? Since digestion is such an energy intensive process, is her inability to make ATP what causes a slowed metabolism, lots of nausea, and could it worsen IBD?
6) I’ve been having more and more health issues of my own the last few years. Starting with PCOS (diagnosed) and symptoms of POTS, CFS, and Hashimotos (things that others in my family are effected by) but I’ve been having other issues arise, especially the last two years. I’m 20 and had to have my gallbladder out this past May due to biliary dyskinesia. Only some of the symptoms have been alleviated and I still often have pain and nausea. I’ve had increasing fatigue and my metabolism has seemed slower and more inconsistent. I am wondering if I could possibly be showing signs of the same diseases affecting my mother? Especially mitochondrial myopathy, since I seem to be having similar early symptoms as my mom did and it does likely have a genetic component. My mom thinks I should also get my genome sequenced, but with the amount of money it costs, I’m not sure if it is necessary at this point.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any insight, no matter how minor, is deeply appreciated. I know there aren’t any miracle cures or easy answers to any of these, but just knowing that I can help her find something, or help the doctors think outside the box, would be worth it to us. Even just knowing that some of my ideas are on the right track would be so so helpful in helping us find the right questions to ask her doctors or finding the right places to look for treatment possibilities.

Boas pessoal,
Tomo muitos cafés e queria diminuir o preço que gasto nestes. Normalmente tomo "café no café" e apercebi-me que ao preço que está se mudar para cápsulas poupo à volta de 2/3 do valor.
Mas tenho um problema, não sei qual é o equivalente em termos de quantidade cafeína entre um típico café português e as cápsulas. A confusão é ainda pior porque o número da cápsula está relacionado com a "intensidade" que não é exatamente proporcional à "quantidade de cafeína" na cápsula.
Se alguém que conseguir ajudar agradecia!😅
PS: Estou a pensar comprar cápsulas da Bicafé. Do que vi parecem ser as mais baratas.

With the announcement of the plastic box I've dug out my fw squads and looked at the rules (they also need a repaint, sheeeeeesh).
What are your preferred loadouts for the infantry? I'm prolly gunna pop a medic in the squad and add a launcher and the plasma in 20 mens.
I'm aware it's very much 'take what you want' but it's nice to see what others take too!
