2024.11.28 15:40 allbusi Married over 10 years - Somehow lost the ability to communicate about anything more than surface level stuff. How can I rebuild trust?
My wife and I have been married over a decade. We have young kids. We've had a great relationship for as long as I can remember. Something happened over the past 18 months - 2 years that I cannot explain, but definitely want to repair. I'm just not sure it's in my control.
We used to talk non-stop. 8 hour road trip? We talked the entire time about anything and everything. Everything from religion, aging, bigfoot, etc. You name it. We found an interesting way to talk about it.
In the last 2 years, I noticed longer periods of time where I just had nothing to say or at least not as much. Over the past few months, this became more severe. My wife recently asked me why I don't share my thoughts were her as much anymore. I reflected on this for a week or two. I realized we had tried to have conversations at times over the past 18 months about relatively significant things like our budget, our relationship, our sex life, our personalities, etc. and they had always ended poorly. Usually, they started with me opening up about something that was important to me. Within 5 minutes, my wife was in tears or angry. I concluded I just shut down after several iterations of this type of conversation.
She shared she feels that these conversations are personal criticisms of her and something "she should be doing better" because "she is not enough." In my mind, I approach these conversations super gently and in the respect of coming to a better understanding of each other, our wants, our needs to improve our relationship. I feel dismissed when it comes to things that are important to me because we cannot talk about them. I've done a lot of self reflection to see if I can approach these conversations any better. I've never approached them by directly or indirectly stating "you're doing something wrong" and "this needs to change." It has always been an effort to understand each other more and it still ends badly
Over the 2 years, I feel like our connection has become less and less as a result and I don't know what to do. We're also in a new season of life where the kids schedule's have become crazy and there is something going on every night of the week. I am tempted to say some of this is natural and we should just move on. Anyways...the inability to talk about anything of significance to me is what I think has caused me to withdraw and sort of not care to continue making the effort. Any advice is appreciated.

2024.11.28 15:40 Expensive-Thing-2507 My take on the bp50 nerf (are we finally free?)
The Leroy barrel is potentially being nerfed. Decreasing the body part dmg multiplier by .1 for legs and stomach.
The current iteration has a somewhat consistent 4 shot kill, only needing 2 stomach or 2 chest shots. This balance change makes you need to hit chest shots for the same effect. Which is much less consistent. As it is a significantly smaller hitbox, and blocked by the arms. Additionally, a single leg shot would require that you hit 3 chest shots for the 4 shot kill. (Calc: 1 leg shot 21.6+ 26.4*3= 100.8)
This has potential to shake up the meta a bit. The significant drop in 4 shot consistency can open the door for weapons like the type 19. Which currently can beat the bp50 at range, but not as much in close range. This change could opens the floodgates to all weapons that have a ttk below 250 Ms. No longer will the bp50 kill you faster than a fennec in close range.
It's not guaranteed, and I make no promises, but we may finally be liberated.

Fuck, man. I’m staying with my mom’s side of the family and I forgot my meds. So it’s been 24 hours since I took my mood stabilizer and antidepressant. I’m disappointed in myself.
Luckily we have created a craft station with coloring, making wreaths, and a cute woodland family. So if I feel myself getting emotional, I will be able to color.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! In light of the holiday, I wanted to give thanks for some of the more recent developments at RenovoRx ($RNXT)... To list a few:
1. New Publication in The Oncologist
The company recently got some of their research published in The Oncologist, an international journal indicating RenovoRx’s credibility in the field.
2. Phase III Trials Progress
$RNXT is advancing in their Phase III TIGeR-PaC trial for pancreatic cancer. RenovoGem, their leading candidate, has already shown promise, and another interim analysis is on the horizon. Results regarding these trials should be released in the near-near future lol.
3. Leadership Changes
They recently appointed Ryan Witt as Senior VP of Strategy and Partnerships, a guy with a solid track record in biotech. This new appointment could put $RNXT on a better growth trajectory than before.

I am working on a project where I have developed with several people an “algorithm” using Jupyter Notebook in Python with Pandas, GeoPandas and other libraries, which is a language that the other members know and can use. This “algorithm” consumes data from a queue and databases and processes it to save the result in another database with the final results of the process.
Since we have a functional version of that algorithm, I have to develop it to an application that considers operational aspects of production applications such as CI/CD, monitoring, logging, etc. In other systems we use Java and Quarkus because it gives us many benefits in terms of performance and ease of implementing projects quickly. There are other parts of this project that already use Quarkus to capture data that is needed for this “algorithm”.
What approach would you take to port this algorithm to Java? Running the Jupyter notebook in production is out of the question. I have seen that there are dataframe libraries like DFLib.
I must consider in the future that this application is going to grow and the algorithm may change, so I must transfer those changes to the production version.
