I know absolutely nothing about cars, someone help me out here please!
We bought our car 2nd hand in June or July (I can’t remember honestly) and the dealership showed us papers stating the transmission was replaced and should (emphasis on should) be fully functional. 2 days later the car started to buck when we’d take off after driving for a while. We visited a garage and were told the dual clutch was at fault. They gave us the runaround for MONTHS about replacing the transmission yet again, and the car got to the point where it would jerk back and forth and the front would shake violently for a few seconds after take off. We finally got the transmission replaced two days ago, the car still lurches forward when we take off and accelerate but doesn’t shake anymore. The mechanic said it’s normal while the car “gets used” to the new transmission. Is this normal??
Also unsure if this is related, we got our oil changed last week and the dude said it came out in clumps (ew!) and we had no coolant. My husband is wondering if it’s possible the coolant is leaking into the oil?

2024.11.28 18:43 dasnasti Ran a very successful homebrewed two-shot with war dogs. Here's what happened:
The first session was a couple months ago with the original backer packet, using the pregens. It was only 3 players and I let them pick out of the 5 options. We ended up with the tactician, the fury and the shadow.
It started out with them arriving at a little town that had been taken over by the war dogs since last time they passed by. We collaborated with coming up with the story of what adventure they were having off-screen before the game started, and they decided they were helping some witch in the woods, and she rewarded them with a magic apple, but they didn't know what effect it would have.
I'm running in my own world and I don't have an Ajax, but the war dogs work for a guy called Jehan, who's basically a Napoleon figure.
The town used to be run by a knight called Sir Troy, who was in the same knightly order as the tactician player, and they knew each other. When Jehan took over, he dissolved the order, and took away their titles. When the war dogs came, Troy had gathered his soldiers, plus a citizen militia to defend the town, but it wasn't enough, the war dogs won, and he and a lot of his people died.
The tactician found all this out when coming back to the town and was pissed. they fought the first war dog patrol they ran into, and won (this was the first combat I ever ran in this game, and I made it a bit too easy just to be safe. The fury player got a crit and killed two guys in one round, which was pretty sick).
Then, they had an argument with the innkeeper, who was kind of the community leader. He said he just doomed the town, that there were a lot more war dogs, and they would punish not just the heroes but the villagers for the dead patrol. The shadow player tried to argue that it was time for an uprising, to shake off their shackles and take back the town. The innkeeper shot back: "Your words are very pretty, mister elf. But Sir Troy's words were prettier. And he's dead now. I'm not falling for it again." (I was pretty proud of coming up with that answer on the spot.)
They heard shouting from outside: "Attention, fresh meat! I know you're all in there. come out so I can see you!"
The innkeep told them it was Burns, the war dog commander. He said he was loyal to Jehan, but always butted heads with Gelman, the human appointed to be the new lord of the region to replace Sir Troy. The players had an idea.
They walked out if the inn without their weapons, and saw Burns standing ahead of a large squad of war dogs. He sized them up and sniffed them, grinning, saying "These will make fine additions to the body banks! Imagine having wode elf ears, or orkish arms! Hell, I might just keep them for myself!", stuff like that.
Then the players brought up his dissatisfaction with Gelman, and suggested, indirectly, that maybe he should be the one in charge.
This was the start of a negotiation. The players didn't even know there was a negotiation system, I don't think, but it seemed like the perfect moment to use it. I explained how it worked, and I showed them his interest and patience stats, and it went pretty well. They managed to convince him. Honestly though, from a director's perspective, I'm not sure I like it more than just roleplaying normally and making skill rolls. Though, I have to ask the players how they felt about it. Maybe having explicit stats, and a visible "meters" they can affect with their arguments, makes them feel like they have more control, and that makes it worth it? I don't know
That was the end of the first session. We went a couple of months without playing, but yesterday, we had the finale, using the newest version of the rules. I was a little disappointed to see they didn't update the pregen character sheets, and by the time I realised this I couldn't be arsed to remake them manually, so I let them use the same pre-patch sheets, while I was using the new versions of the enemies. Didn't really cause any problems.
Side note, first session was in person, but the second was online. roll20 is the vtt I'm most used to but obviously it doesn't support the game yet, so I used owlbear rodeo, since I know it's simpler and it's what the team uses for a lot of their playtests. worked like a charm.
So, starting off, Burns told them he couldn't have his war dogs storm Gelman's castle, since they all have exploding collars, and he can detonate them. Burns, is the only one without the collar, so it would be just he and them. I roleplayed him kind of like Beetlejuice, like this gross asshole who nobody likes but he's super enthusiastic to be "part of the gang", it was very fun.
The whole session was basically one long combat. They raided the castle, killed some guards, and their leader, a blackguard, who was the boss fight, basically. Then, after killing the backguard and convincing the remaining guards to give up, they decided to turn on Burns, who was already wounded (don't feel bad, he was planning on betraying them too.)
He ran to Gelman's room, convinced him he was there to protect him, then took him as hostage to negotiate a truce, but the players didn't give a shit about Gelman either, he was one just another of Jehan's pawns.
The fury player could tell the session was about over, so he decided, fuck it, I'll eat my slice of that magic apple. Turns out it allows them to transform into any beast for one hour. He turned into a rhinoceros. He charged through the door and through Burns, splattering him. They questioned Gelman, and found out Gabriella, sir Troy's wife, is still alive and mounting a resistance out there somewhere, they executed him, and that was the end.
Players loved it. This game is awesome. Will probably come back to these characters and continue the story once the full game comes out.

So I just received my final LSAT score ever and it was the same score as my October test, a 170. I was a little upset, as I wanted to just get a point or two more (I know it's an amazing score though and I'm very grateful). It is what it is and I'm done with the LSAT forever. Do you think getting a 170 twice, coupled with a few scores in the 150s from last year, will make it look better? Hopefully at least it shows the first one wasn't a complete fluke and at least can help in the sense that it shows consistency? I'm hoping to get into a T14, ideally NYU, and I got rejected last year with a 4.x and a 15high.
