I’ve posted before as an egg freezer..it blows my mind how complicated and unpredictable the ivf process is.
So I’m 36, when I was 35 I froze my eggs in 3 rounds. I did what I could afford and I’m not in a position to use the eggs right now so I’m a bit worried about my potential egg quality. To be honest I would like to freeze my eggs again but I just don’t think I can afford it.
I’m wondering if low maturity rates = poor egg quality or if it’s not really correlated and my eggs just grew at different rates and it was a protocol issue…(I had follicular asynchrony)
Background: never been pregnant , never tried to get pregnant (never have had unprotected sex) no known fertility issues
Lab values at the time of pursuing freezing: AMH: 1.31 (on birth control) 1.96 (off birth control) FSH: 7.7 AFC: 12
Cycle 1:
Birth control priming 300 of follistim 150 menopur Ganirelix 11 days of stims Dual trigger 11 eggs retrieved: 8 m2, 2 m1, 1 GV
Cycle 2:
No birth control priming 375 follistim 150 menopur Ganirelix 10 days of stims Dual trigger 13 eggs retrieved: 9 m2, 1 M1, 1 empty zona, 1 giant egg, 1 GV
Cycle 3:
No birth control priming 375 follistim 150 menopur Ganirelix 9 days of stims Dual trigger 20 eggs retrieved: 8 m2, 5 m1, 4 GV, 2 giant eggs, 1 empty zona
So 73%, 69%, then 40% maturity.
Final results: 44 eggs retrieved, 25 m2 frozen, 8 m1 frozen, 11 discarded
At the last follow up my doctor said she wouldn’t change anything if I did another cycle. She said she wouldn’t want to stim me for longer or harder and risk quality to get more mature eggs. I asked her why I only got 40% maturity and she said it could be an egg quality issue. But my ovaries also responded faster each time with the dominant follicles outpacing others so I’m wondering if it’s a protocol issue. Then again, I’d rather have a few high quality eggs than 20 lower quality eggs.
My doctor is highly regarded and she was thrilled with my first two cycles and seemed to think we were doing the right thing. She agreed the last cycle was disappointing but overall my frozen egg count was very optimistic.
Also of note: I took all the CCRM recommended supplements
I asked an embryologist who said that the giant eggs and empty zonas aren’t too uncommon and don’t necessarily indicate anything about the quality of my other eggs.
Just wondering if anyone has any input based on personal experience?

Hi there - I find myself in an odd situation.
My partner and I lived in rented accomodation and split up. I decided I no longer wanted to be subjected to ever rising rent costs, so found a small flat to purchase and put in an offer in and it was accepted. After working with a broker, I got a mortgage offered (I'm freelance). My plan was to stay in the flat until I moved, both me and my partner living together (there's a spare room and it seemed amicable at first). However, soon after the split, his behaviour became increasingly abusive (a side to him I had never seen before). It got so bad I had to leave the property and move to Northern Ireland to live with my dad while I waited for the sale to complete.
My solicitor, who to be honest has been PAINFULLY slow (its been nearly 6 months - no chain) has known that I have been living in Northern Ireland. She knew this as I have a job starting in England in Jan, and I've repeatedly said I wont be able to commute from NI so have needed the process to get moving. I've been emailing my solicitors daily since Monday to try and get things going.
This morning she sent me an email saying she'd contacted TSB (I have a broker so surely this would have been their job?) to point out the broker has listed the address wrongly on the mortgage offer (flat a instead of flat 1). She requested they amend the address and a new vaulation. I emailed her confused - why not speak to the broker instead of going straight to the lender? Why was this the first I was hearing of this? The mortgage offer had been with my solicitor for months.
In response she sent an email saying that I also had to let the lender know my new residential status, as I was no longer living in the address for which I'd applied for the mortgage and if I didn't let them know, she could no longer represent me as it was a conflict of interest. I'm really startled. She has known about my residential status for months. I had no idea I'd have to update them. Why not tell me before?
I went to my broker who said that they were surprised by the soliticor asserting this and it might result in an entirely new application having to be completed with TSB. I am really concerned - I am now living with my dad so I'm not on any council tax or any bills. Isn't it also likely to affect my credit score if I change address now? I'll have to get on the electoral roll here too. Will that not cause a drop in my credit score? It was really hard securing a mortgage on my own as a freelancer in the first place and I'm really worried I wont be able to get another mortgage offer.
So I guess my question is this. If you move back in with your parents whilst waiting for a sale to complete, will TSB require an entirely new application? Can I just update them on my address change and not have this affect the offer / provide them with new identity documents? Is this normal for a solicitor to say this?

Switched to Mac after 24 years of Windows. Here are a list of things I do and how the performance of this machine has transformed my productivity
- Work - ERP Consultant. A lot of RD sessions open at the same time, a Windows VM for my sandbox that runs SQL SSMS and Visual Studio
- Music - Metal: Production on Reaper, few VST stand alone apps (Amplitube, Sample Tank, Steven Slate Drums). I sometimes run these apps (during my break) even when my work apps are open. Smooth as silk. All of my recordings and production are done on this machine. I’m using 2 interfaces (Tascam 2x2 as my main and a 16x08 for 8 drum mics - setup as an aggregate device. LOVE this feature on Mac and is by far my biggest highlight)
- Games - Not a gamer at all. But I have an itch for flying. I have X-plane 12 installed natively, and MS FS 2020 on a parallels windows instance. Smooth as silk, again. I was shocked when Mac instantly picked up my old Microsoft SideWinder Precision Pro as soon as it was plugged in. Works like a charm natively
Fantastic machine. Zero regrets - I really hope it stays that way
