2024.11.28 18:37 Intrepid_Cucumber608 Cracked heat exchanger, furnace getting replaced in 6 days.
So yes. The heat exchanger is cracked, they showed me and gave me a photo. We have CM detectors on the main floor (basement furnace) that never alerted us to anything. We are absolutely going ahead and getting it fully replaced as it's 12 years old, but I'm wondering :
Does it really hurt that much to run it here and there?
It's supposed to go below freezing tonight and they only gave us 3 small space heaters in the meantime. I'm also paranoid about leaving the space heaters running while we sleep. I do have a small handheld CM detector, so I could run it and then check that. It was short cycling as well. I have a fireplace but we haven't used it yet (new home) and it definitely won't heat the bedrooms up

So I quit my job and my insurance ends in December 1st. I’m starting a new job, but not planning on enrolling with my new jobs insurance because my wife is a federal employee and it’s currently open enrollment and we’ve decided to go with hers. We’ve signed up for the GEHA HDP plan with her, but the problem is coverage doesn’t start until January 12th. Am I basically out of luck until January 12th, or should I find some sort of short term plan to extend coverage?

I got an eyebrow piercing bc and I’m now on day 5. I clean twice a day with saline solution but noticed there’s some redness below the top ball of my piercing. The guy at the shop said it looks more like a pimple forming than anything bad. Plus the drainage is whitish clear. It’s not sore unless it’s touched or bumped.

Hi all, I've recently gotten an iPhone for work and have had a Pixel for personal use for a couple years. I've grown absolutely reliant on a few features on Pixel/Android, hoping I can find an alarm app with similar functions. I haven't found these on the stock iOS alarm app, maybe you guys can point me in the right direction on an alarm app...
1.) Ascending alarm - as the lightest sleeper, I'd reeeeeally like to be able to stop my morning wakeup alarm before it wakes my wife and baby. (And just in general, I never need the alarm to begin at full volume.)
2.) Notifications that an alarm will be going off - I get a thingy in my notification shade 2 hours before that an alarm will be going off, and have the option to dismiss/skip that alarm. That comes in handy quite often in my life.
3.) Skip alarms for certain days/weeks. - I rely on my alarms to remind me of all sorts of things, like to hop on to meetings/conf calls, go grab the little one from daycare, etc. But if I'm on vacation for a week, I've got to either turn them off entirely and then find them all again and turn them all back on when I'm back, or let them pester me all vacation. If I could just pick a few days to skip alarms, that'd be soooooo much easier.
4.) This might be a function of Siri that I haven't found? Or not possible? But on my Pixel, if an alarm is going off, and my hands are tied up ( I'm in the shower, driving, or have a toddler in my arms), I can just say "stop" or "snooze" and it does it.
5.) On Android, once I set an alarm, I get a quick "toast" notification confirming to the effect of "your alarm is set for 4hrs23min from now". This is critical, because with my exhausted Dad brain it's easy to do something wrong. Android confirms how long it'll be till that alarm goes off, just giving that extra bit of certainty that I know it's set and indeed set for the right time.

What Other Snek Guy novels should I Read?
- It should have no cheating/sad endings
- Humanoid LI's are preferred or atleast humanoid faces and sex.
- If it's Anthro, Maybe something like Feline, Lupine and Not Serpentine(something like 'Selena' by cebelius is an absolute NO!) , not Lizard style or super weird stuff. -Better if there are atleast some human ones in the harem if Anthro is involved.
