If you’re welcoming an adult cat into your home for the first time, it's important to know what to expect and what you’ll need.
Cats have individual preferences for almost everything, and unlike dogs, they’re not always easygoing.
Indoor vs. Outdoor
- One of your first decisions is whether to keep your cat indoors or allow them outside. It’s challenging to keep an outdoor cat indoors permanently.
- Indoor cats are safer from dangers like cars and other animals, but they need enrichment and possibly weight management since they aren't designed to be sedentary. If you keep your cat indoors, don’t let them outside unsupervised or inconsistently.
- Outdoor cats still need indoor essentials like hiding spots and resting areas.
Food and Water
- You’ll need food (dry/wet), feeding and water bowl/ dishes, and a litter box when your cat first comes home.
- While any bowl can be used initially, switch to stainless steel or ceramic bowls later. A cat fountain will be beneficial for high water intake. Water source should be clean (distilled or mineral water) to avoide parasitic problems later on.
- Cats require a meat-based diet due to their obligate carnivore nature. *If changing their diet, do so gradually by mixing old and new foods.
- Use large, accessible litter boxes, keep them clean, and consider your cat’s preferences to avoid behavioral issues.
- Have at least two litter boxes, placed in different locations
Identification and Safety
- Use ID tags, collars with breakaway features, and microchipping.
- Vaccinations, particularly for rabies, is important. See vaccination schedule here.
- A carrier is essential for vet visits or emergencies, and a scratching post
Cat Toys and Enrichment:
- Offer a variety of toys though cats may prefer simple household items over store-bought toys.
- Cats may also appreciate a bed, and cat tree
- Be aware of substances and plants that are toxic to cats and avoid giving them medications without veterinary advice.

because i really need some opinion...hmm..so i have medium length hair because my hair is fine type...i'd say my hair is thin hair too..it's kinda not thick and not than thin when i hold it..yeah i'd say it just thin..i just born with it..and it is 2b&2c type of my hair..because i think its too curly to be in straight type and too straight to be in the curly side..and with my finess hair..and thin.. the only thing i grateful it always smooth when u touch it..that's the only thing i like about my hair i guess..the rest meh..seriously i need routine..it become easily frizzy too....hmm..thank u...(if u guys can suggest product it would be helpful too~)
