 | New pages of There's a Bus Beyond the Veil up now on Webtoon and Tapas, for the 4 people who actually see my posts 🥲 Thoughts: TABBTV Chapter 2 is coming to an end soon, and I have mixed feelings. On one hand, I'm very proud of how much I was able to improve not only my art style, but also my process and speed. I started with taking over a week to make 2 pages, and now I make them in 2 days. On the other hand, my subscriber number barely changed since I started posting this chapter... During the last issue, I gained over 100 subs in 2 days thanks to Reddit, and now no one sees these posts anymore. The issue with the new Webtoon feed also meant that a ton of those subs aren't receiving any of my updates either. But even though I know this in theory, I keep doubting myself, and wondering if people really like my comic, or if I'm just deluding myself 🥲 Either way, I really really love making it. And I don't want to stop! I just may have to do it a bit slower. Sorry about the rant and thank you for anyone who read this far!! For whatever loose definition of "indie" you want to use, haha. I just think it's nice to support smaller developers with funky ideas - there's a few fun ones I played recently:
Scarlet Hollow: Horror visual novel/rpg. There are a lot of actually meaningful choices and customization, and the art is amazing. I really liked the characters as well, they feel realistically flawed and like they react naturally to how the PC interacts with them.
ARCO: Tactical turn based bullet hell rpg? I think? The storyline is really cool, you play as a few different people in a fantasy version of Central/South America that's just on the brink of colonization. There's a free demo too!
Red Strings Club: Cyberpunk bartending/revolution simulator. I really love this so much, you get to do a little minigame to mix drinks, and it has one of the few Grey Morality Sci Fi Choices(tm) that I felt was a genuinely interesting moral question.

I've seen many posts by people hitting a wall in life, finding that the rise and grind day to day modern life is depressing and unrewarding. I am personally not suprised at the frequency or number of these posts I think there are many aspects of modern life and work that can and should be critiqued, and that hopefully will change someday. The response to people essentially describing a moment in life where they've hit burnout has been pretty horrifying. A lot of people referencing things being tougher in the past. A lot of people denigrating the poster for not finding full time work tenable. A lot of people directly comparing their own hardships or someone close to them's hardships to the op's. Stop doing that. If you are bitter about your own hardships or those of someone you know how can you not empathize with someone laying out their burdens. It's important to recognize that we only know our own minds, our own pain, we do not share anothers skin and cannot feel it if they bleed, we can only imagine what they feel from our own experiances. If you are someone who has faced similar challenges and risen above them, how can you laud yourself and denigrate another facing a similar struggle? Would you not think to encourage them that the climb is not impossible rather than kick them while they are down?
We are all crossing a bridge, I don't know how your journey is, I can only tell you how mine has been.
Additionally, unrelated to above, if you have worked through hardships multiple jobs 60+ hours all the shit life can throw at you and gotten past it but know it to be painful, why would you wish this upon the next generation or anyone after? Would you not want life to improve, or are you just unable to imagine such improvement?

Sooo fucking sad today like debilitating type of pain thinking of how badly I want to see him. I’ve cried like 10 times today (even around my family). Thanksgiving and the holidays are hard. Lol even told him I’m missing him and didn’t get a response back which broke my heart all over again. Despite that all, I’m still showing up at my family events like Thanksgiving today and planning to hang/ hanging out with friends. Idk if this is hopeful, but I’m still going in the hope it’ll get easier one day. So if you’re having a hard time today you’re not alone, but keep going.
