2024.11.28 23:50 MirceaKitsune Geometry nodes: Mesh boolean won’t recognize geometry intersecting itself
I’m trying to generate a random maze using geometry nodes with curve - mesh conversion and a noise texture. I got the basis working as intended with a circular pipe, will be using a custom profile shape later.
The issue is seen in the top-right 3D view: Each individual spline creates its own pipe when solidified into a mesh, as such they each poke through one another on the inside. This is expected but not what I want, my goal is an interior maze.
As such I added a boolean modifier to turn the outer shape into one structure. Surprisingly it doesn’t work with the intersect mode. I only pipe one geometry into it, but have enabled the Self Intersection setting which I thought would make the whole structure merge with itself whenever there’s an intersection.
I enabled Fill Caps in the Curve To Mesh node then used a Merge By Distance, as such each pipe should be a solid shape even if part of the same geometry. What is going wrong and how do you suggest solving it?

2024.11.28 23:50 topiamy-land I messed up so bad and is in denial
Guys I was a calm person before this whole process, I honestly miss who I was before this match because now, every night before I go to sleep, I imagine the scenario of me matching and me not. Today, checking back on the Yale application portal, I realize I made a huge mistake.
I applied to 8 schools, only on Yale's application portal (Of course it has to be my #1 ranked school and my dream school), I submitted the UNEDITED version of my NC Parent Request. I feel like my world just fell apart - We make under 40k for a family of 6 and my mom is not a part of my life (aka the request) So right now I already emailed them and begged for forgiveness, but I truly believe it is too late. Even if I match to a school after this, I will always have the thought at the back of my mind, what if I wasn't an idiot and submitted the right form and maybe I would be in Yale?
But on a positive side, do you think Yale would give me some grace? I have explained in my application and my essay on how my mother had to give up my custody and I had to come and live with my dad, so they would perhaps have a understanding of the situation even with my EMPTY form? (crying) Or, as I understood, the financial office processes a bit differently, and I will still be considered for the match since both my parents' financial info is in the QB portal? (She is foreign and does not have a US tax form, or any tax form at all)
Everybody good luck on the match! Any advice will be appreciated, and I believe in y'all!

Hey everyone. Been scouring the market fairly recently for a decent portable CD player, and been seeing FiiO's DM13 a little bit. Does anyone have any experience with FiiO as a company? Personally I have very little, I bought a DAP a couple years ago from them and it has served me well, but looking to get back into CDs. Want to know if their other products are as well built as I feel their DAPs are. I know they're a Chinese company and well, stuff coming from China can either be really well built, or total garbage so I wanna know where their other products land. Thanks.
