Hi everyone, I wanted to share something that happened today and confirm if my suspicions are valid.
I live in Fereej Bin Mahmoud, opposite Toys R Us, and my house is walking distance from a well-known chain departmental store (I’m not sure if I should name the store). Earlier today, my sister-in-law (SIL) and I went to this store for a quick trip in the middle of cooking to grab a few missing ingredients. We ended up spending 100 riyals.
After we checked out, the cashier gave us two lucky draw vouchers and asked us to fill them out and drop them in the raffle box. He also handed us a small printed chit whcih asked for our QID, phone number, and name, saying he needed the chit back to register us online. That’s when I felt something was off.
We headed to the raffle box with the vouchers, but I stopped my SIL and told her not to fill them out. Usually, I’m pretty naive about these things, but for some reason, my gut was telling me this could be a scam. I crumpled the chit in my hand, and the cashier saw this and started insisting that I fill it out. He said he needed it to attach to the second printed receipt.
I told him we didn’t know our QID numbers, but he suggested opening Metrash to check and fill it out. I then said my phone had died and my SIL hadn’t brought hers. I placed the crumpled chit back on the grocery belt, and the cashier panicked a little. He gave it back to me, saying I could bring it next time, as it was an "official paper." We left with the chit, vouchers, and groceries.
Now I’m left wondering—was this an attempt to scam us for our QID information, or am I overthinking it? If it is a scam, do you think I should report it? I’m especially worried about elderly residents in my building, including my in-laws, who could be more vulnerable to such tactics.

Hi All, I just wanted to share an interview experience that I went through and I guess I need feedback to if this is normal or okay. So I came across a project coordinator job posting at BC cancer. The PC was supposed to be part of a new team at BC cancer, which is just a year old. So they were not hiring to fill in a previous position but apparently was a new team with all new roles. Ok so now about the process for context. The application consisted of the usual resume and cover letter and a detailed questionnaire with a couple other project management related questions. I completely application form in July. 2 weeks later they asked me to complete a pre screening assignment. Which again was a detailed assignment related to project management. About 3 weeks after I was invited to a one hour interview. The interview panelists included 2 directors of the Strategy and planning team. They were hiring for 3 PCs under each director and also PMs . The weird thing was that there were no PMs at the interview. That I found a little weird as PCs and PMs work closely together on projects. But I got the impression that they were yet to hire PMs as well. So a week later they invited me to a meet and greet interview with the executive director. Which was 20 mins long. By this time it’s end of August. They told me that they will let me know about the next steps soon. And then radio silence. No response. I saw that they reposted the position on the website a couple days after I interviewed. After following up with the hiring manager, I was told that they are still interviewing candidates and they will let me know in two weeks. Another 2 months pass by and now we are in November. That’s when I receive an email that they have decided to move with another candidate. And the funniest part was that in the email other candidates who were rejected were also cc’d. So in between all this I did find a new role and actually much better than the one at BC cancer. But I found the whole experience absurd! I put in so much effort in the interviews and assignment. Why would you string candidates along if you’re unsure about them and why send all rejected candidates a single email? I actually looked those folks up on LinkedIn just out of curiosity lol. Sorry for the long rant but just so annoyed by the hiring process nowadays.

I need to get out like now, he took my keys & unfortunately it's in his name (the car) BUT I have the title signed over to me. I just never registered it because he put the sold price at a random number & it's $1,600 to register it in my name. I want to callthe police but it has gone south before. Hey everyone! I’m a long time very casual watcher of Eurovision. However, last year, I got super invested in Serbia’s NF and that motivated me to follow through with actually hearing all the songs before the show (unusual for me). Again, got even more invested and I made a spreadsheet for all the songs and semi-finals. And I was definitely not prepared for the chaos that ensued.
This year, I’ve decided to have a head start and start a new spreadsheet for tracking all the NFs and the songs. Where my dilemma lies is I don’t know how realistically possible is to keep track of all of them (especially listening to all the songs so I can make predictions and choose favorites). So my question is, especially to the seasoned Eurovision lovers, do you keep track of all the NFs and if so, how? Any tips and tricks for my first official deep dive year are appreciated!

I live in an apartment, and my neighbors are constantly making noise—whether it’s loud music late at night or stomping around early in the morning. I’ve tried knocking on their door to politely ask them to keep it down, but they either don’t answer or promise to be quieter and then go right back to being loud. I don’t want to escalate things or get into an argument with them, but it’s starting to affect my sleep and overall peace of mind. Should I talk to the landlord, leave a note, or try something else? Has anyone been through this and found a solution that worked without causing tension?

I would like to make a suggestion… And that is for you to require or at least stress that posters state their age and sex. Like in the dating subreddits. As in [24/F] Looking for … [17/M] bla…
This would be invaluable information for historians attempting to glean information for future reference or publication.
Not only that, but I am a 70 year old male who lived through Beatlemania.
It seriously warms my heart when I see people a quarter of my age excited about The Beatles.
My peers nor myself ever really got into our parent’s generation of big band or whatever music they were into.
People much younger than my generation, being interested in the greatest band in history, hits a special nerve and is deeply touching to us older ones.
Going to a Paul McCartney and seeing attendees from 4 - 90 and many of them weeping at what they are witnessing in person is something one can barely wrap their head around.
I would really like to see members here start posting their age / sex. It would give this great subreddit so much more depth in my opinion.
Young people loving The Beatles today, 60 years later, is a topic many of us older geezers often discuss amongst ourselves. (Your appreciation and love of our generation’s artistic donations brings us closer).
