Growing up with a physical anomaly, being obese, always made me feel different. Objectively, I was different, and this feeling of not fitting in has persisted throughout my life. Because of this, I wasn’t a fan of school and rarely attended. The teasing I endured made it unbearable. I would tell my parents, but their advice was always to "suck it up" and not care what others said. Unfortunately, this advice didn’t help. To avoid school, I would come up with excuses, like faking sickness. This constant back-and-forth strained my relationship with my parents. I felt like they were deflecting and ignoring my suffering.
Now, as an adult, I feel like I’m wearing a mask wherever I go. I enjoy being alone because even with the mask, I can’t seem to shake my social awkwardness, which surfaces pretty regularly. In the few relationships I’ve had, some of the girls told me I was a negative person who didn’t open up much. This usually led to communication breakdowns and eventual breakups. The loneliness can be overwhelming, and sometimes I feel like I’m just waiting for death to free me from this hell. Outwardly, I seem like a functional person. Most people wouldn’t guess how I truly feel. People often come to me for advice and solutions, valuing my perspective—the irony isn’t lost on me. While I’m acquainted with many people because of my skills, they mostly seek me out when they need something, which makes me feel used.
Since I was around 14, I’ve thought about ending it nearly every day. I guess that’s what they call ideation. Now, in my late 20s, I can say I haven’t gone beyond just having thoughts because I’m scared of the possibility of an afterlife. Recently, the weight of all these feelings has become borderline unbearable. I’ve tried a lot of self-help methods, but I’ve noticed I can’t seem to develop new habits. At some point, I always resort to old ones. It feels like I’m stuck in a constant state of circling the drain. My memory seems to be deteriorating, and so is my ability to concentrate—though that’s never been great, to begin with, I also find myself ruminating a lot on embarrassing encounters that I have had.
I’m not entirely sure why I’m writing this here. This seems like the kind of thing I should be discussing with a psychologist or therapist suggest some cheap ones if you know any.

I’m supposed to leave tomorrow with my boyfriend to visit his family for a week in the UK, and I’m sick 🤒 it just came on suddenly - sore throat, stuffy nose, chills etc.
We’ve had this planned for months. I’m a mess when I’m sick, and I don’t know how I’m going to deal travelling like this, and also we’re supposed to be staying with his brother who has a new baby…
I feel like he’s going to be disappointed if I cancel. Im sure I’ll be better in a few days, but I can’t decide what to do. First and foremost I don’t want to be sick around a baby. 2nd we have lots of plans but if I’m sick I’ll just be sleeping 😞 I don’t want to ruin this, what do I do? I’m so pissed I’m sick 😖

It’s already snowing and the plants there are cheap this one was 12 bucks and I’m planning on repotting it on other pots I also have other pothos and I have been trying to save them because they were rotting because of lack of drainage I also want to point out that I live in a apartment where the sun does not hit and also have just one window that does open and I open it every day but now it’s cold I also want to use a fan to have more air circulating and I have an air purifier on my room what can I do because I really love plants but I don’t have anybody else to ask.

2024.11.29 02:39 sosohype Any reliable mouse recommendations (excluding Magic Mouse)?
I purchased the Razer Pro Click earlier this year and while it's great when it works, I have to re-pair the device to my laptop minimum 1x time a day and it's driving me mad. When I'm connected via the dongle it's all good but that's only viable for when I'm home and docked in.
For those who don't use the Magic Mouse, what wireless mouse are you using instead? I think my last resort is to pick up an Apple Trackpad and just use it as my main mouse when I'm not docked in to my home office.
(My hands are too big for the Magic Mouse, I find it extremely uncomfortable.)

I am part of a bridal party (groomsman) with the wedding on in a couple days. 3 days prior to the wedding i am informed that we are all doing a choreographed dance when entering the reception. Ive been sent the dance i need to practice - however i have never danced before and have huge anxiety especially doing this in front of 140 people. So, I installed Linux on my Asus laptop the Zenbook 14 Oled Flip model - UN4501R AMD ryzen 6800H, and I am getting this random intermittent glitch across the display. The photo is taken from a video of it happening and its only about 1 frame. I have tried several distros and both KDE and Gnome. The image is from Fedora 41 Gnome with wayland. This does not happen in windows 11 so no likely a hardware issue.
The glitch/artifacts across the screen are random and not at a fixed location and seem to happen more when I haven't touched the touchpad for a bit then use it to scroll. Firefox/reddit seems to be the easiest way to replicate it though I have seen it on the desktop and other apps.
Anyone have any experience with this or thoughts on what might cause it? I have Linux running on my desktop and another laptop and neither do this.
