The strike is the nail in the coffin for Canada Post and its workers; and both cannot possibly recover from this. Canada Post is less than a year to virtually running out of cash. There is no more money for wages.
What might now be needed is more dramatic and bold changes to the organization and its services.
1- Changes at the executive and board leadership. They all need to resign and new leadership brought in. If this was a publicly traded company, the shareholder meetings would not be pleasant. They managed to create billions of dollars in losses with zero accountability.
2- New monthly fee for everyone. Treat it like a public utility. Everyone pays for service. If it cost $175 a year to service an address, that’s what everyone needs to start paying or they will receive no mail. I could think that essentials like heat, water, and hydro are essentials but we all pay for it. Mail service isn’t different.
3- Raise prices dramatically for transactional mail and base it on regions. No volume discounts.
4- Raise prices for marketing mail distribution. This should be an extremely high margin business. No volume discounts either.
5- Stop handling parcels from other countries that don’t charge enough for costs; and recover those costs from the sending postal authority. eg close the loophole on packages from China. It should cost more to deliver than what it would cost domestically. Refuse to handle packages from countries not willing to abide by it.
6- Revamp the goods distribution system to compete with and partner with the likes of Amazon, Uber, Skip, UPS, Fedex; and cross-border shipping (US/Canadian address consolidation). Canada Post is afraid they’ll lose; but they’re not even trying to get with the times.
If they don’t do these things, they will lose, we will all lose, and be on the hook for billions in losses with dismal service, and more unemployment from layoffs.
What else needs to change?

A lot can change in a year, I’ve always said this. I started working with you a year ago and I remember when you introduced yourself so excitedly to me. I was kind of taken back. And then you asked me where I was from. We were from the same city and state, coincidence I guess.
We talked a lot and I didn’t realize how much I liked you, until I realized I wouldn’t bring up the guy I was dating briefly from an app, or any other dates I went on. I went on a solo trip, came back, broke up with him, and had my focus on you. You actually were texting me on this trip more than he was, and that’s when I finally got the hint. You were really subtle about everything.
Your birthday was a couple weeks later and you were sad you had nothing going on and no one to celebrate with. I wanted to tell you I’d take you out, but l thought you might have found it weird, so I didn’t say anything.
I wondered when you’d ask me out. And you’d say little things here and there, like oh you should go here, or are you going to this event.. but I didn’t get it at the time. Fast forward some months and then it came.
It was 10pm and you texted me if I was going to come out with you to the bar since a bunch of coworkers were meeting there. I said, “if you go I’ll go” and we I went.
I wasn’t expecting you to be waiting on my arrival, or have your hands on me the second I got there. I was expecting you to introduce to me to your best friends or start buying all my drinks. I wasn’t expecting you to tell me about how people at work made comments about us talking. And I definitely wasn’t expecting to be drunk and falling into you one second, to you kissing me the next.
When we left, we sat in my car and talked for an hour. I think you were crying and talking about your family and how much your job meant to you. You told me how much you liked me, that’s you didn’t think I liked you back, and I was the cutest girl you’ve ever seen. You were cuddling my arm on the way back to your place and I had to drive with one hand. We cuddled all night on your couch and I loved that so much. You were slightly awkward in the morning but you kissed me goodbye and came over my place to hangout a few hours later. I didn’t know that would also be the last time I got to kiss you or hug you.
The next couple of months were agonizing for me, wondering when you’d ask me out again or what was going on. I got fed up and just said I wanted to see you. Went with you the next day out of state to pick something up with you, but I was just happy to be there and hangout again. And that was the last time we hung out, because the next time you’d ask me to go to the gym with you or camping, you’d flake and act like you never asked me. I finally broke and accused you of playing with me and told you that it was hurting me.
You blamed it on being unable to commit to anything and because we worked together and it could end badly. I could understand, but then again you couldn’t answer why you started anything in the first place. I saw you. I know you have a good heart and you came from a broken home. I know you love to help others and you feel good providing the services that you do. I will never understand why you did that to me, when I would have never done that to you. I feel used. Used for your ego maybe. But you must’ve have not liked me at all, or not enough because we never spoke again. It’s been 2 more months of silence. We walk around avoiding eye contact and it’s very hard for me look at you.
Today, a female coworker of ours who also was at the bar that night, said she noticed we stopped talking. I told her everything to explain why.. I told her I was the one that went with you to get that thing that’s on top of your truck - and she goes, “oh he said he went with a friend.” Then I thought maybe you were embarrassed of me.
I still have feelings for you, and it sucks. I hate this and I wish they would just go away. You hurt me and you couldn’t possibly care. I’ve been crying over it for 4 months now and it’s hard to even explain to my best friend because we didn’t date. You led me on into a fantasy that I expecting to play out. I’ve had a lot of bad dating experiences, but I think this is the one that had made me loose the little trust I had left in men. I’m truly sorry to say that, it’s not how I want to be but I have to protect myself from people like you. I see you now for who you are.

In january of 2025, Rambo 4 will be released in germany after being banned in 2008. To celebrate and profit on that, the distributor chose to release the movie with a special edition, that includes the theatrical cut, the extended cut, special features and 44 booklet pages of information about the creation of the movie.
So I wanted to know from you: how is this sub's opinion on Rambo 4? And would you say Rambo 1-3 are worth it? Do I need them to understand Rambo 4 or the Rambo character in general?
What gets me interested in Rambo 4 is: Stallone wrote, directed and lead it. It's a project full of his passion.
