I started getting a smell of sewer gas in only my upstairs bathroom. It is not constant and sometimes it's worse than others. It smells like it's coming from the toilet and that's the only place I smell it. Don't smell anything around the tube or the sink or anything where else in the house. I went through all the steps. I read this subforum, I watched videos to make sure I covered my bases. I had a game plan and when I went to excute it I fell apart.
My gut told me to run, I didn't, I listened to everyone else say it's a good home. It's honestly not. The bedrooms are too small. The kitchen is cheap...well everything is mostly. The repairs are done poorly. The home warranty is worthless. Oh boy 2k maybe if my furnace dies. Which you know they will fight.
Every time I go to have some thing quoted to fix it's bad. Had a chimney guy come out and tell me he won't touch the thing because it's in-between two roofs. ( they put an addition on and placed it poorly) the hvac is old. The sewer is alight. The electric needs fixed. The seller painted over every single outlet. A good percent of the junction boxes aren't in correctly and either caked with paint to fill the gap or plaster.
It's a good neighborhood. It's a good street for my kids. Till I ran into the zoning guy and was told I can't put a basketball hoop at the end of my yard by the street. That was something.
I'm not even touching the other issues ( some minor, some kinda not). Like updating the kitchen and bathrooms over time? Yeah ok part of doing business. Maintenance for the house? Yeah again part of doing business with anything you own. Feeling like everything needs to be fixed properly because the dickbag was cheap? Yeah.
I feel like I over paid as well. Sure the appraisal came in 2k above what I paid, but I've seen how they come up with those numbers. I should have offered 25k less after the inspection. Sure it would have nuked the deal but whatever. I feel no pride in this house. What a shitty Thanksgiving.

Hello! I’ve done some searching in this sub but thought I’d ask here…I’m looking into a lava cave tour in January and I’m only in Iceland for 3 nights, so I’ve got waterproof boots (Timberlands) as I’ll just be walking around Reykjavik mostly, not doing any hikes. But for these tours they all mention hiking shoes…before I splash out on something I’ll wear once for 3 hours and never again, do you realistically think waterproof Timberland boots would be acceptable? I’m just going to do a family friendly one hour tour, nothing challenging but I know it can be a bit rocky and icy.

I’ve narrowed down my choice to either the Asus CX34 Chromebook plus or the Lenovo Flex 5i Chromebook plus.
The Asus is $400 CAD and the Lenovo is $600 CAD. All the top lists I’ve read indicate the Lenovo is the best all-round Chromebook out there right now but is it worth 50% more than the Asus? The main upsides I can see for the Lenovo are a 360 hinge and 256 GB storage (vs 128 GB for the Asus). I’m looking for a solid machine to surf the web, stream videos, and other basic stuff. I may make use of the new AI tools but so far I have no specific plans for them. I’d rather get a solid machine that will last for a few years to minimize waste. Many thanks for your insights!

So I’m going to sound like a greedy asshole in this post, but I bought the game on Steam full price cuz I forgot about the fact that autumn sales exist, then poured 5 hours into the VN (far past refund time) before learning that there’s a good chunk of stuff cut out, only obtainable through like, 5 dollar jast DLC.
Now despite spending 30 dollars on a game instead of the 17 it is right now, I’m not the most money-having dude on the planet, and would prefer not to spend extra money on something that should naturally be in the game in the first place, so does anybody have any method to just get the DLC for free? I still want to play the version on Steam so it can be on my profile and all of that, so downloading the game again from F95zone or something isn’t a preferable option. 😭

Ok so I am technically a sophomore in college studying pre-vet but think I should potentially transfer because the school I am at doesn’t seem to have the best program for it but am so sad because I LOVE the school I’m at and the friends I made the program just isn’t good. So many of my friends at other schools in pre-vet are working with animals already for classes and my school doesn’t offer any of those types of classes :((
Any advice on transferring? I don’t want to get set back but the classes I have to take for my bachelors are so boring here that I cannot focus on them and I do bad - I have looked into multiple other schools and the classes they offer for pre-vet seem so much more interesting and involved!
I think I’m going to transfer next spring if I do - is this a bad idea? Should I do it sooner?

For context I’m his 17 y/o older sister, and one day he just stopped responding to me. We’ve always had sibling fights and he probably harbors resentment towards me the same way I do towards him. My mom always sides with him and he doesn’t miss an opportunity to mock me or be spiteful. He’s super addicted to being online in the past few years and if anyone interrupts his gaming he will literally scream and kick. Obviously I can’t fight him but I sometimes try to get under his skin using words when he acts like a brat. I know I’m not completely innocent, but he most definitely isn’t either, and I’ve been trying to be nice to him for the past year working around his anger issues. He randomly decided to stop speaking to me, won’t sit next to me, won’t answer the simplest of questions. Idk if this is a phase or if I’ve done something more serious and irreparable. I also know that if he continues to treat me like shit I won’t just take it, so I’m torn.
