2024.11.29 02:40 CandegginaCalda I'm a GM running RotR book 6, part 4. It's taking a lot out of me and I feel stuck.
TLDR: managing Xin Shalast is a mess and I'm getting sick of it.
Hello everyone! I'm currently running RotR converted to 2e (to level 20) and my party is exploring Xin Shalast! They have already beaten the Hidden Beast and are now in the middle of a fight with Gamigin in Heptaric Locus.
The party is a bit confused about what to do, where to go. They want to be super cautious, they know they're in the lion's den and for the first time in 5 years they are wary and afraid of their enemies. I don't want to ruin that. They know a giant called Gyukak could help (they just don't want to look anywhere near the encampment, for obvious reasons: hundreds of giants), they know there's a protection of some sort near the citadel, that's it. (Also, in my game sihedron rings also provide Lashunta's Life Bubble because reasons).
Me, I'm not good at multitasking, or at planning super elaborate stuff. Work is taking a lot out of me recently and sessions have started to become rarer and far between, and, honestly, Xin-Shalast is starting to feel like a drag. I don't want to run random encounter after random encounter, as our sessions are rarely longer than a few hours.
I am just at loss on what to do, how to organise it all etc. and keeping the exploration going with an exciting pace. On top of this, I have a huge issue with loot: quite evidently, I have no guidelines on what to give them at this point AND they have no means to craft in XS, meaning: powerful runes are wasted on them and no way to change their (old by now) runeforged weapons.
This is one long rant, and a call for help. I have one day left home sick from work and I might just use it to fix this hell. If you want to help me, I'd be forever grateful.

My example... there I was with a pretty good Castilla run, fighting with Mushasha for control of Mesopotamia. I won the war due to greater resources and vassal swarm, but damn those cats were tough. They kept summoning up new armies out of nowhere, and they had zero give and even less chill. So after the war I looked at their idea groups:

2024.11.29 02:40 Praelio 2017 1500 Transmission Issue
I did a little bit of digging on this subreddit, but it appears my mother is the unfortunate victim of what's likely the torque converter flying through the trans like a garbage disposal.
For reference, 2017 Silverado, and I believe it's the 6 speed transmission as the dipstick is present. Around 90k miles. Unfortunately my mom did 3-4 cross-state moves with a Uhaul trailer going above 70, which I assumed helped contribute to the issue.
Was driving the other day and the truck just doesn't shift anymore. It'll ride to 4k rpm, won't shift. Local shop says they found metal shavings in the trans fluid, so I'm assuming the torque converter problem is the actual issue. Quoted about 4200 for a replacement.
My question is, prior to the transmission guy swapping it out, is it worth having him order an aftermarket bypass valve and installing it? I noticed the transmission usually ran around 200-212F and from what little research I've done, that seems like it's a bit too much. Further- is there any other aftermarket things that should be done while the trans is out?
I'm a JDM guy, so american trucks are a bit out of my area of expertise. Any advice or thoughts on this would be great. Thanks :)

I don't really know how to type this, but l've seen a lot of opinions on this book.
For context l'm 13 and orthodox Christian and I wanted to know if this book was particularly demonic or wrong to have. I got this book a few years back because I heard he was really good and since I was really into books and philosophy stuff (I still vary much am :}) the book is actually really good and l've heard people say it's really manipulative or toxic, but I feel as though the book isn't meant to be taken super literally, and I feel that people are kind of shocked when I say I have the book. I've read it so many times it's torn up and there's notes in there from old friends reading it and highlighting stuff. I think it's more of a nostalgia book now because I don't read it as much. as I type this in bed, It's right next to me. I was planning to reread it, but I just wanted to know peoples opinion about it and how they feel about me being so young with this book and if it's ok to have as a believer in Christ
