I’ve been back from a previous may leave for over a year now. I returned part time at 0.8 FTE (29 hours per week).
I’m about to go on maternity leave again.
Ordinarily I would be entitled to 14 weeks at full pay leave. I’m in QLD gov, and being part time they look at your last 12 months worth of hours to work out your entitled.
I’m shocked to be told by a HR member that because I’ve worked 4 days per week instead of 5, I’m only entitled to 8 weeks worth part time paid leave. Cut down by almost half?! Does this sound right?
My ignorance of this is correct, I knew something about it would be lower due to being part time, but this feels like a massive blow.

I've been planning what to get and changing my mind for months, help me finally settle on something! I will only add 1 or 2 more piercings to this ear as I don't like sleeping on an ear full of jewelry, so it has to be good and balanced and I just can't choose! Not sure if I have the anatomy for a rook and keep going back and forth on a tragus because it would mean no earbuds for a year, but I'd consider it if I was sure it'd be the prettiest placement. 2024.11.29 03:40 DarthMarasmus Staying at my parents' with my young kids (6f, 3f&3m), trying to get them to sleep on a pallet on living room floor. Dad (80m) keeps watching tv at loud volume while bitching that they won't go to sleep.
I love my parents, I love my kids, and I love my sister and her sons, but it's infuriating that they won't have a little consideration that I'm trying to get the kids to sleep in a different environment from their home.
I get that it's my parents' house, but these are your grandchildren! You're going to be bitching tomorrow that they're in a mood but you're not making it easy for them to go to sleep in already suboptimal conditions (they keep their house about 10 degrees hotter than my wife and I do, it's noisy, it's not dark, and they're not in their beds).

I am the mod of a community where moderation assigns user flairs, and there is a particular flair that is given out as a sort of token of appreciation to users who constantly are positively contributing to the community.
I would love it if comments from users with certain flairs automatically got highlighted etc. This way community members could have a much easier time seeing the comments that are trustworthy and reliable — especially since the subreddit centralizes around recommendations and answering questions so frequently.
I am a bit confused what exactly the point of user flairs are if we are able to use those flair either over the api for particular functions or just using Reddit as a mod on Reddit’s frontend to auto highlight specific content.

I'm 22 and have just enough time to go on a quick 3 week trip to new zealand before i start University early next year. I want to go on a group tour in the south island for 10 to 15 days.
I'm really eager to see the sights of NZ with other 20 somethings in a tour that isn't a total party and alcohol fest.
I've never gone on a tour before and trying to research group tours is proving a bit of a headache because seemingly none of them are "all inclusive". So a tour that seems affordable quickly becomes unaffordable when realising that all the cool activities like horse riding, kayaking etc, are extras.
I'm planning to leave in the 2nd week of janurary. my budget is around 3 thousand us dollars
Would anyone be able to offer some tips on which travel companies are good and straightforward or just general advice?

Today I did training for waterspider but it was so dead there wasn't any work, so I feel like I didn't get proper training. When I went to move my cart onto the trailer, my learning ambassador left me to go talk like always, so I somehow messed up putting the cart on the trailer cause it beeped at me weirdly. Once I finally found the trainer, he just fixed the issue without telling me what the issue was, so I don't want to do that again.
