2024.11.29 05:30 Tough_War5920 First diagnosis of TMJ dysfunction
Hi, I got diagnosed with it yesterday but I felt like I had it for a while now because of the constant clicking in my jaw. However I got it bad this time, because my jaw is limited in its movement which means I canโt open my mouth too wide, and I feel that my lower jaw has been misaligned because of this.
Will this go back to normal or would I need to have corrective interventions? Seeing that I may not be able to get it checked within the next few days, do any of you have recommendations on what to do in the meantime?
Thank you!

2024.11.29 05:30 DimensionMajor7506 Can/should I apply for apprenticeships as a graduate? (Uk)
Hiya, Iโm in my final year of my maths degree and have been applying for software dev related grad schemes. Unfortunately, I wasnโt able to get any internships during my degree, and my degree contains no proper programming/CS-related modules.
I have however worked on a few projects in my free time.
I know CS graduates canโt apply for apprenticeships in software dev, but can Math graduates apply? Or are the courses seen as too similar?
Furthermore, should I? Or should I just stick to grad schemes for now / junior non-grad jobs when I get closer to graduating? Iโm just struggling with this; itโs very much a numbers game, and Iโm getting locked out of a lot of opportunities despite being completely flexible on location within the UK, as Iโm not on track to achieve a 2:1, and I donโt study CS. Applying for apprenticeships in addition would boost the number of chances Iโm taking.
Although of course Iโm aware the salary probably wouldnโt be great; Iโm not concerned about earning loads, but I do want to earn enough to actually live and support myself! Especially since I wonโt be living with my parents.
I have started applying for more data science related roles, as these seem a bit more open to math graduates & I do have an interest in the area, having taken a lot of stats modules, but itโs not where my heart lies; I would much rather work in software development. And quite frankly my CV reflects this, I have worked on many programming projects in my own time, but not really any data science type projects.
TLDR: Maths grad, can I apply for software dev apprenticeships? and perhaps more importantly, should I, or is it a silly idea?

2024.11.29 05:30 Diabetic_Hippo420 $500 CAD max budget
I'm pretty new to projectors and I'm also just a student atm so I can't really afford to be spending thousands on a projector. I recently got a Titan tns-100 for dirt cheap so that pushed me to want to get a projector.
New projectors: I was looking at some newer budget projectors; NexiGo PJ40, and Ultimea Apollo P60. I've heard good stuff about the Nexigo, at least for the price, and the Ultimea looks really good but I haven't really been able to find many reviews for it, just the earlier Apollo p40 model which people say is good.
Old projectors: was looking at some older used projectors that definitely seem like they were mid to high range back in the day when they came out. Is it worth getting an older projector or has the technology in them advanced so far that it's not even worth it? The projectors in question were the Epson 3020 for $300 CAD, and the Acer k330 for $250 CAD.
Preferably I'd like to spend under that budget but if there's a projector closer to or even a little above that with a drastic difference in quality then I'd love any suggestions.

2024.11.29 05:30 Pendulumzone Curiosity between Brazil and Ygo.
During the 90s there was a program on one of the largest open TV stations in the country, which made an extremely sensationalist report about Yu-Gi-Oh. The article described the game as something diabolical, and said it taught children black magic, and could even incite violence. going so far as to say that the game was from the devil, and that it taught children how to kill.
Due to the lack of decentralized media such as the internet, at that time, TV exercised great control over the masses. And as Brazil was made up of a Christian majority, the repercussion of the program resulted in drastic attitudes on the part of parents, who severely punished their children, forcing them to burn any Ygo cards, and forbidding them from playing them.
This had severe consequences for the popularity of the franchise, which was somewhat shaken by this event. Below I will leave the link to a recently discovered channel, which contains this iconic lost Brazilian media. Obviously the article is in Portuguese. But if you look at the images, you should have a certain idea of what is being presented. If you have any questions, you can ask me. If I remember anything else, I'll be willing to clarify.

2024.11.29 05:30 elmanoucko AnyType version tagging
Hi,
I consider including anytype in my workflow, but there's something I really need and I'm not sure this tool can do it.
Currently, my versioning is git based, been using git for ~10years, and ~6years ago I started to use it as a general purpose versioning tool and like the control over what is historized. (tons of other benefits too, but not relevant to this post) One of the main benefit is that I can find a specific version from months or years ago by relying on commit messages. Without that, to me, versioning is nothing more than an unsortable short term memory backup. Also I decide when I want to commit etc, so I avoid a lot of noise possible in an "auto versioning" scenario.
So, to adopt anytype, I need to have that behavior, or similar.
Is it possible to tag a version with some form of description ?
I think the control over when the autosave is done might not be possible, but just tagging some version in the history might be enough to start to integrate that tool in my work.
Or achieve what I want to do another way, I just started to explore, so I might have missed something in the documention or by looking around in the software.
Without that, I'll have to disregard this tool and stay to my "usual environment" :(
Thank you in advance.
