I'm considering joining for summer 2025 and I'm trying to figure out some budgetary things. It is likely I would be able to pass the test and become a deep water or at least a shallow water life guard but a friend of mine who did the program before said that there may be a new combined pay rate for the two positions for 2025. Does anyone have any insights about what this would look like?

2024.11.30 00:00 jebus_flippin_cripes Is it normal for Vets to prescribe "Safeguard" liquid to cats?
For quick context, we've been trying to diagnose/treat an ongoing issue with my cat's third eyelid showing. My cat was at the vet on Monday for a thorough exam.
When I spoke to them on the phone today, and they recommended a dewormeanti-parasite medicine, I thought I heard them say "panacur" liquid. When I picked it up from them, the invoice and label on the medicine bottles said "Safeguard". I tried to find product info from the manufacturer (to read more info about possible side effects, etc) and found this: https://www.merck-animal-health-usa.com/safe-guard. It lists a number of animals including dogs, but not cats.
I could confirm with my vet that they did this intentionally and it wasn't a mistake. If it was intentional, is this normal or appropriate use?

2024.11.30 00:00 anxiouselectrician How to stop mini vibration calibration before prints?
I got a P1S and after the initial calibration when I’d do a print it would only ever do the bed levelling calibration. I recalibrated it after tensioning the belts and ever since then it does a miniature version of the vibration calibration. Is it doing this because it did a failed full calibration? Is this normal? Is there a way to stop it? I call it a mini vibration calibration but truthfully I’m unsure if it’s calibrating anything..

 | Hello, I just happen to notice damage in my wall cabinet and what looks like possibly a termite (although by the segments looks like an ant) . Is this a termite? Is this termite damage? The area is not in one’s immediate view unless you duck a bit, but I’ve never seen any pellets below the area and I had done a termite inspection 4 months or so ago with negative results. 2024.11.30 00:00 ecniv186 I got “healed” by cutting out gluten from my diet.
I think I got my first tonsil stones in my early teens. I noticed back then, that I got way more of them when I drank milk. That's why I eliminated milk from my diet and I had way less tonsil stones. I still ate other milk products like cheese and butter for example. About five years ago I noticed that the tonsil stones were coming back. I got them way more often and also had a slight increase of my tonsil size. I also could now see that there are holes in them in which the stones accumulated. I had to frequently use cotton swabs to pull them out. In the last two years it got so bad, that I had to clean them almost every other day. I also had that annoying need to cough when I began talking.
It was also around that time that I got constant gut problems. To sum it up I can say that I always had that underlying feeling of having to sprint to the toilet soon or an uncomfortable feeling generally. I also got diarrhea from time to time and other symptoms. I thought that I had IBS or something like that, and it was hard for me to get out in public without having anxiety. I was always looking for a toilet near me to be safe if something happens.
A few months ago it got even worse, and it was around that time I noticed that I have an issue with foods containing gluten, because I always got diarrhea after eating things that contain gluten like pasta or bread for example. I even got an awfully feeling in my gut from oats because of the gluten contamination from the processing process.
At that time I thought to myself that I maybe have a gluten intolerance and not IBS or something like that. I immediately changed my diet to being gluten-free and after less than a week I was finally symptom free.
That's where we get to the tonsil stones part. After that week without gluten I noticed that I didn't have any tonsil stones for a few days. The tonsils were smaller and the holes in them were completely free of any tonsil stones. I also didn't have that coughing stimulus anymore.
To this day I still haven't had any tonsil stones. I am finally free of them. I can't believe it was the gluten. I always thought it was a trend to eat gluten-free but here I am.
I eat everything except milk (I still eat milk products) and things that contain gluten. I tried to eat gluten again for two days, but that eczema on my wrist that was almost healed started again to itch, so I stopped immediately.
