2024.11.30 00:30 oohleela Region free DVD/Bluray player that can connect to a laptop? Or what programs to use?
I've been looking to collect physical media that I enjoy, and much of the media that I consume is Japanese anime that is sometimes difficult to find in the US, so I'm looking at purchasing anime series that may have different region codes. I haven't bought an external CD/DVD reader for a laptop before as I'm still using my laptop that has an internal reader; but I'm getting ready to make that transition as my PC cannot update to Windows 11. It seems most laptops these days do not have internal drives, so I'm wondering what I should be looking for for when it comes to the drives themselves or programs to read things that are from other countries? Or could a disc reader read blurays, only it's a matter of programs? And suggestions are much appreciated 🙏

2024.11.30 00:30 UnclePuffy Wonky Platforming/Jumping
Is it just me, or is the platforming/jumping totally off in HFW compared to HZD? I'm on PC, so maybe it's a m&k thing, I dunno, but I've fallen or missed jumps more in a 10-minute span than I did the entire 80-hours I spent in the first game. I could understand if it was a game where your jumps needed to be precise, but I'm jumping from glowing one glowing babeam/handhold/ledge to another where she's supposed to be grabbing on, but she's just completely missing them or jumping past where she should be.
Please tell me I don't just suck that bad.

How would it affect Wallace Boden, Kelly Severide, Stella Kidd, Joe Cruz, Christopher Herrmann, and Randall McHolland and the new members such as Darren Ritter, Violet Mimkai, Sam Carver, Lyla Novak, and Dom Pascal?
I am more interested in this Season 5 antagonist and another antagonist, Don Rasmey (Season 11), than any other antagonists from Season 1 to now Season 13 such as Gail McLeod (Season 2), Spellman (Season 2), Pat Pridgen (Season 3), Tommy Welsh (Season 2/3), Ray Riddle (Season 4), Jerry Gorsch (Season 7), Emma Jacobs (Season 10), Don Kilbourne (Season 10), Jared Lennox (Season 12), Danya Robinson (Season 12/13), Robert Bishop (Season 13), and others. I am going to write a fanfic story about him or Don Rasmey making a returning debuts into Firehouse 51 members's businesses and lives...not decide what the story is will be about but already have a storyline idea of the Mayor of Chciago, who got elected in Chicago Mayoral Election in 2023, fired Carl Grissom on the spot one week after Season 12 finale and appointed Jim Anderson to be Commissioner of Fire Department two weeks before Season 13 premiere for unknown reasons out of blue and Mayor of Chicago chose Don Rasmey, former Chicago City Treasurer, to be his running mate and Don Rasmey became a newly Deputy Mayor of Chicago.
