2024.11.30 01:00 Automatic_Fishing_44 Monitor resolution goes down
So hi there guys . I bought a new PC yesterday. I had used a relic for a long time. My new PC's graphics card doesn't have a VGA port so i plugged my HDMI cable to pc and to monitor. And the resolution just went Bananas. I feel like i can literally see the pixels. I tried second port of monitor, i tried a second HDMI cable. I checked graphics card driver uptade. I checked graphics card settings, i change the resolution of pc . Also when i turn on the pc ,my monitor detects the HDMI as DVI but I guess that is possible cus HDMI is kinda DVI extended right?. What should I do? How can I fix it? Please help me out

Hi, I’m a 23F who is about to graduate college and move to NYC, and I would love to make more queer friends as I move into this next phase of my life. I am in a committed monogamous relationship with my girlfriend, but I don’t have many queer especially wlw friends and I’d like to have people that I can relate to in those aspects.
A bit about me: I work in finance, which means I can get super busy (promise I’m not ghosting you!) and tend to be up at strange hours lol. In my free time, I love to play pickleball, listen to music especially country and bedroom pop, travel as much as I can, and try out new restaurants and bars. But by far my biggest hobby is board games — I have over 30 in my collection and have logged over 200 plays in an app I use to track them (yes I’m a nerd lol). I’d say I have a snarky sense of humor, but I also enjoy genuinely listening and engaging with people.
Dealbreakers: I am not looking for a romantic or sexual relationship in anyway. I just want more queer friends! Anyone younger than 18 I’d feel weird talking to. (More dealbreaker for you than me probably) I’m somewhat opinionated but open minded to most views, if you are dogmatic about anti-capitalism, we might not get along.
Bonus points: Anyone local-ish to NYC! Anyone already in a relationship who would want to go on double dates! Anyone who also works in finance or other male-dominated fields and wants to complain… People who love board games!

Hi all. My grandmother recently suffered a stroke. Her recovery has been decent, but she insists on having a glass of wine some nights. This creates an issue, as she often forgets she already had a glass of wine and pours herself another. I'm worried about her balance and her health and I'm wondering if anyone knows of some non-alcoholic wines that would look/taste similar enough to real wine (specifically white, rosé, proseco) or if anyone has another solution. Obviously, I watch her and limit her, but it really frustrates her that I tell her no. She's very headstrong and she doesn't quite understand that she can't be as independent as before.

Whenever a company gets sued, they payout damages (if they lose) or settle. A lot of times the reason the company gets sued is because of the actions of a particular employee. I suppose sometimes that employee could be legally liable, but it seems like people tend to focus on the companies because they have deeper pockets.
But anyway, what sort of things prevent a scenario like this from happening:
You're a middle manager at a big corporation. Your good friends with one of the employees in your department and they desperately need money because of some medical issue. So you call them a racial slur and announce that they're fired in front of the rest of the department.
Now they sue the company. The company maybe settles and they get a payout.
You probably get fired, but that could be mitigated if the settlement is big enough the coworker could just share it with you. Also, as part of a settlement, they could even say they don't want you fired or that they don't want it to be publicized what happened, which would allow you to seek employment elsewhere without that on your record.
So why doesn't this happen all the time? Especially settlement sharing. (Or maybe it does happen often, I don't know.)
